Hello All:

Need a new prop for my 2001 90 Honda-Went to the local Honda dealer and after a 15 minute conversation began to realize that it was a little complicated-dealer says he need the # off the prop and I would like to avoid pulling the boat until I get the new prop.

Thus I am wondering if someone could give me a #-the engine is on a 2001 22 foot C-Dory Cruiser- rarely cruise with more then 2 people and I keep the boat lightly provisioned. Cruise the ocean but mostly the ICW-boat rarely used for fishing.

Anyone got a number??

Thanks

Hi Ken,

Yes sir! Use 58130-ZW1-015AH for your Honda BF90 which is a standard Honda OEM 3-bladed aluminum prop. If the boat is really light you could use 58134-ZW1-015AH which is the same prop with 4 blades. The 4-bladed prop will act like it's got about an inch more pitch than the 3-bladed prop from an engine loading standpoint.

They're very close in performance so there's no wrong choice here. I'd use the 4-bladed prop only if you run the boat light most of the time. If you're loaded up and stay that way then I'd use the 3-bladed prop.

Try a good propeller shop like Precision Propeller In Spokane WA. http://www.precisionpropco.com/. Know your RPM at WOT and Boat Try and read the Diameter and Pitch and Material of Prop Stainless or Aluminum. I have found that Honda and Yamaha Props are purity much interchangeable except for price. This is true for my Honda 50 and 90. They also do a good job of repair. My boating is 50% on a river I usually need a prop repair at least twice a year.
