I'm looking at a new 19' Angler
. It is packaged with a 60 hp Yamaha and wonder if it isn't under powered? I would appreciate any thoughts from those of you who own these boats.

Thanks,

Yes, it is underpowered. It will perform terribly at anything other than hull speeds. A basic rule of thumb, is to power a 19 the same as a 22.

Here's a link with a little more info, and there are several posts here regarding outboard choices for a 19 - use the search.

In short - keep it light, minimum 75HP, and ask around about engine noise for brands/models you are considering. While all of the modern engines are relatively quiet, there are definitely differences between them, and noise will be much more of a factor in a 19 compared to a 22, given the open back.

Thanks DaNag.
I did find this link. I've been having a little trouble with my internet server (speed).

I've bit the bullet and ordered the boat with a 75hp yamaha. After several years of lurking on site. Many thanks to all who helped me make this decision. You guys sell these boats. I should get delivery 2nd week in July.
