Hey C-Brats,

Here's an advertisement I found on this boat. It showed up on the C-Brats radar somewhere a little over a year ago. At the time it was located northwest of Atlanta in Georgia's central midlands and was advertised in the mid-teens. There was quite a thread on it.

Spuncopper; a good memory and a good eye. I had wondered about the 130 hp, but didn't make the connection to the boat discussed in August of 2017.

In the boats for sale by owner, you should be able to post photos directly to the ad you place. For photo's other than for sale, you can request an album from the administrator, and then post photos.

The old Boat Trader link does not work. It had more photos of the "tanks" which had been added to the transom, presumably to increase floatation for the larger than rated motor. Although the 130 was the same block as the 115, which current C Dorys are rated for, it is a heavy motor at 505#. The Honda 90 weight is #360.

cwericsson may want to clarify what the thinking is on the tanks the larger outboard, what appear to be small tires on the trailer and other features of the boat. When did cwericsson purchase the boat and did he do the modifications?

Certainly is an interesting boat.

yes, the prior owner said he added the ballast tanks because of the increased weight of the motor. I keep them empty except for a small rear anchor for beach anchoring.

With the Honda 130, I've gotten the boat up to 30 plus mph. However, with the c-dory flat bottom, you can only do that on calm water. Any chop and it sounds like you are banging into something.

I like to cruise at 18 to 20 mph. At 3 gph it can cruise for 6-8 hours before gasing up. The longest weekend cruise I've taken is 250 plus miles on the ICW.

Second, I added a Garmin chart plotter, depth transducer, external antenna, and forward flood lights for evening anchoring.

Engine overhaul: New rings, new bearings, new valves? That is what I think of an engine overhaul--plus more.
How many hours on the engine?

What size are the trailer tires?

New control cables 19 ft, water pump kit, new spark plugs, oil and fuel filters, anode, oil.
