1985 C-Dory 22 Cabin Door Keys

It seems that I have lost both my cabin door and Suzuki engine keys and I have no spares. I called a Suzuki dealer and he said it would take about four weeks to get a Suzuki spare one for me. I am not sure where I can get a new cabin door key , does anyone know .

Tug, this won’t fix your immediate problem, but may help in the future. Hidden in each of my boats, I have a flat heavy duty pouch, with a Velcro closure, made to hold keys. I purchased the pouch from a locksmith store, but they are available online as well. The back of the pouch is covered in Velcro, and the mating piece of Velcro is glued in a hidden area in my boat, that is not behind a locked door, or locked compartment. In the pouch is a key for the engine and a key for the door. Both keys are flat and fit the pouch easily.
After traveling in my first C-Dory, my wife and I were always concerned about loosing keys, so initially, we would both carry a set of keys, just in case. The pouch back up plan took care of the concern, so now we don’t worry about loosing keys

Thanks for the information about the replacement ignition key. In my owners manual the previous owner had written " Engine Key # 11 .
The Suzuki dealer just asked for my Engine model, year and Vin. # and I told the Key #11 . He seemed okay with that ?
Maybe the Key # 11 indicates the number for the key blank I need to cut a spare key. I will call the Suzuki dealer again!

I just ordered 2 Engine # 11 keys from ( Boats.Net ) from the State of Georgia. They should be here in about two weeks. Thank You very much. Tug

I am not positive about the 1985 door key, but "Mobella". made most of the later locks. The blanks should be: "ILCO X258 USA".
My local gunsmith modified another blank to the exact length and profile of the old key. But you need an old key.

Some of the earlier locks were made by "TrioVing" of Norway. ilco blank # T06.

Diamond Sea Glaze may have the blanks thru their retail arm in the USA.

My 1991 22 had a Perko lock asy. on the cabin door.
Any locksmith should be able to hand cut you a key,
he will need to come to the boat or lock to do it!

I received my ( 2) Suzuki Engine Keys today from Boats.Net today, just in time for boating season. I stashed a couple keys on my boat just in case I lose them again. Thanks again for the help and links to the keys sites.
