19 Angler on my mind...

Folks...I am getting very serious about buying a 19 C-Dory. I am into fishing. I fish mostly inshore, but make a few trips offshore each year. My wife is into comfort and beaching on a sand bar. Can anyone tell me if I am on the right track with the 19 Cr/Angler?

Does anyone know of a newer 19 that might be up for sale?

Thanks...great site.

I think your on the right track. My son and I just spent a week on the boat fishing all around the San Juans - anchoring in different bays, or tieing up to mooring buoys or staying at marinas on the boat. We had a grill on the back for cooking, a nice canvas back to close things up at night, a place to sleep, and plenty of room for two.
Don't belive all the wusses who tell you that you need a 22 for comfort, (although the wife wont stay on the boat when its cold).
The 19 is trailerable with a car, easy on gas, and a great fishing boat, but dont call it a cruiser, its an Angler.

I think the 19 is a great buy for the money. So far mine has been extremely cheap to run averaging 1.15 Imp.gal/hr over 23 hrs. of mixed running, sleeping out on the boat and cooking on the beach. I found the seats to be too low so I've built some L shaped cabinets with a couple of drawers under the seat and a raised storage compartment behind the seats. I built a couple of fold up table tops (18" x 18") on to the backside of this cabinet to give me a food prep area. We'll see how this works out.

Glen, sounds like some nice improvements. If you have a chance, it would be great if you could get a photo album and post some pictures of the boat.

Hi Rodger,

I hope to install the cabinets tommorrow. I've taken a few pictures as I went but have no idea how to get them online. I'm not the most computer literate guy in the world.

Good boating.

Glen – before you can post pictures, you need a photo album.

Send Mike or Bill a PM requesting one. After you have the album log into it and follow directions for adding photos. If you have problems, many of us are willing to help.
