16th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

Thank you all for sending the checks in to me for the San Francisco Marina reservations.

I received checks from every one in the group except Sea Spray and Blue Eagle. Are you both still planning on going on this trip?

Kent and Marcia, I even received a check from you but I am not going to cash it. Use your resources for knee physical therapy. You gave plenty of notice on your medical excuse for me to try to find someone else. Thank you for the kind gesture.

Hi Jim,

I sent my check from my credit union. You should have received it on the 16th.
The online site is down right now so I can not look to see if anything went wrong but I will check in the morning.

Steve

Hi Jim,

Left it under the mat, along with a thank you card, and sent an email through this site to let you know. Did the email or the money go missing? If so I'll resend it immediately as I greatly enjoy this cruise and don't wish to miss out.

David

Hi Jim,

I have to apologize. The credit union told me the check was mailed but instead of arriving on the 16th it was mailed on the 16th. It should arrive soon but they can not tell me when exactly.

Steve

As of today we received checks from everybody. Thank you.

We have nine vessels attending. We still have room for one more boat if someone else wants to sign up at the last minute to get back to our ten boat maximum.

The event is now just two weeks away!

I am glad to see this storm roll through this week. I am sure it improves our chances of nice weather it two weeks!

Well, it makes sense to me.

Steve

Amazing the10th spot for this most excellent trip has not yet been taken! For those of you who have an interest in checking out some very cool Delta and Bay boating this is your chance!
:D

So tempting. I had a great time last year and would love to do it again. But, 4,000 miles round trip, and full calendar! :( (And will be coming west coast in May/June for the Friday Harbor gathering and some cruising in the south end of the Inside Passage!

Looking ahead, the weather is mixed for our trip. Some sunny days and some possible rainy days.

Thanks to Pedro's references from his friends Chuck and Peter, we have arranged to have dinner again in San Francisco at the South Beach Yacht Club. We told the Port Captain, Bill Adams that we would be there for dinner Saturday night between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm.

We still have space for one more vessel if someone would like to join us at the last minute. This is a pretty good quick trip for someone who has not done it before. Who knows when this will be the last Extravaganza.

One last note, I heard they are currently working on the D Street Bridge in Petaluma and it could be fixed just in time for our trip.

SEA3PO may not make it...my Yamaha 40 cracked the magnets in the flywheel and the dealer had to order a new one from Georgia... he said once he had it, it would only take about an hour to finish the motor....but who knows when he will get the part...

I will meet everyone in Petaluma...Tom and Chris are expecting everyone on Friday for dinner...Tom will be there ... so I will stay with them on Friday night..if the boat is dead..

Roger saves the day !!!! I will go with him on the Delta...so there will be room for another boat as I will not be bringing SEA3PO...

Fellow Extravaganza Attendees
Here are some links and info regarding the detour to Vallejo and possibly to Napa for the afternoon of Thursday April 5th. I have secured room for 10 boats at the Vallejo Yacht Club (VYC) pricing will be between $20 -25 per boat, cash is preferred. We will try to keep the Cdorys together but there may several boats in separate berths. Vallejo Yacht Club has a bar for cocktail hour, or we can walk down the street Mare Island Brewery :beer . We feel one of the best dinner options is Zio Fredos, Italian/ American food, easy walk from our docks. Worse case, we can easily order food out and have delivered to VYC is an easy going low key place with some friendly folks. No need for that yachting cap . Laurie and I will be sponsoring breakfast Friday morning in the VYC dining room.

Mare island Brewery, about 1/4 mile walk North from Vallejo Yacht Club

Zio Fredos Restaurant, about about 1/3 walk South from Vallejo Yacht Club

Napa Main Street Dock
In our experience the cruise from Vallejo (mouth of Napa River) is about 1.5 hrs. one way. Nice trip but approx 3 hrs total plus cruise from Wheeler plus time spent ashore. The dock is in the heart of downtown Napa. Limited tie-up space for boats. One possibility is for C brats to hitch ride with others from Vallejo Yacht Club. Or side tie 2 deep.

Fantastic Joel. Good job.

Dinner in Petaluma on Friday at Chris and Tom's! It would be great to actually meet Tom.

We now have room for two more vessels on this trip. Some one should sign up for a great trip that may never be repeated again.

The Petaluma bridge is now fixed just in time. I will call for a Friday and Saturday bridge opening. No need to worry about the bridge clearance anymore.

Just spent all day working on my motor. Get your vessel in shape for the Extravaganza and come with full gas tanks.

Looking forward to seeing every body!

Great news all around. And John, thanks for the Napa and Vallejo Yacht Club info. Sounds like we'll have some adventures this trip, always up for new things to see and do. Thanks again. We'll go where the group goes.

We have been looking forward to this trip, and now Pat is not feeling up to coming. I called Joel and offered him a ride since SEA3PO is in the shop. Ready for another fine Delta Run.

We will be launching our vessel about 10 AM tomorrow morning (Wednesday) at Rio Vista Delta Marina.

We will all be heading to the Wheeler Island Duck Club at Noon.

Happy Spring Break! Looking forward to the 16th Annual Delta and Bay Extravaganza.
