15th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza - 2017

15th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza
Wednesday, April 5, 2017 to Sunday, April 9, 2017

We cannot believe that this is the 15th year for our event! The event is at nearly the same time as last year.

If you are interested in being part of this historic 2017 Extravaganza, please reserve your spot now by indicating on this thread that you will be going, and that you are signing up for the full five-day journey. Please do not sign up unless you can commit to showing up to this Extravaganza, and you can attend the entire event.

You might look at the last 14 years of threads if you want some idea of what this gathering is like. There is also extensive video documentation of this event on the site to help you visualize this journey.

There is a strict ten (10) boat maximum for the Extravaganza. This maximum is because of Duck Club and San Francisco marina space limitations.

Five (5) vessels are already signed up, namely:

1. Pounder – Jim & Kath
2. Dinner Belle II – John & Robbin
3. Midnight Flyer – Colby & wife
4. Lady Madonna – Ed & guest
5. SEA3PO – Joel & Susan.

Colby, Ed, and Joel, please all reconfirm that you are still onboard with this trip.

Right not there are only five spaces left! The next five (5) boats signed up on this thread will be able to go. Pease be aware that this event fills up quickly with the maximum 10 boats. Those indicating that they want to attend after the ten-boat limit is reached will be put on a waiting list, if someone drops out before the event.

This is arguably the oldest, most continuous, and greatest diverse geographical event of all formal C-Dory gatherings. If you make the commitment to go on this trip you will likely enjoy the journey. There are many repeat folks at this event year-after-year.

All C-Brats are welcome, both new timers and old timers. More will be posted later, but please reserve your place now if you intend to go. This Extravaganza is less than three months away!

Sincerely,
Jim & Kath

Pat and I would love to go---- but-- I just started a new project at UC Merced and will not have accrued enough PTO to take off work. We always enjoy this trip.
I'll pass this year and let a new boat join in the great festivities of the cruise.

Hi Jim and Kathy,
Hopefully back surgeries are a thing of the past!
We're excited to get the MARCIA JANE out of mothballs and experience this great extravaganza again.
Marcia and I are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new acquaintances.

We've loved the videos! It helped the recovery.

Jim, I can't tell you how excited I am to be planning on this event, and also that those dates continue to work out, as my wife did arrange her vacation time to come with me. (Her name is Rosanne by the way. :-) Also, I'm pretty sure we are going to stick around that week following the cruise and would like to explore the rivers up towards Sacramento if anyone else is sticking around and would like to lead us. Plans as of now are to swing by Phoenix on the way out to visit my folks and do some exploring of a few of the lakes there. Namely, Pleasant, Canyon and Saguaro Lakes in Phoenix and then Havasu as we head on over. Should arrive a day early if we follow this plan. Now, for those of you familiar with the area, are there any inspections I need to worry about prior to launching my boat at Rio Vista? I'm aware of most places requiring the clean and dry and will see if I can actually get a decontamination washdown when I pull out of Havasu.

Lastly, and I'm sure this information will be forthcoming, what logistics do I need to know about launching and storing my rig at Rio Vista, and costs associated with the cruise?

Looking forward to April! Colby

Yes,We would not miss the event of the year...this year I promise not to break my back on the darn sidewalk in Petaluma....that was a real bummer....only thing worse was I went to a chripractor....he hurt me..made me cry....I had broken L-5 and a piece went into the disk...what a pain.

Jim,

Welcome back. Please add me to the list. I'm not sure whether I will have a crew or not, but am looking forward to it either way.

Darn! I missed out for a spot. I'll probably be out striper fishing if the water warms enough by then. I'll try to capture the fleet heading out from Rio Vista.

Hi Jim,

I can't believe this went so fast. I just looked at the list, and there were 7 boats, (I think), but I needed quick check before I threw in my hat.

OK, so please put SleepyC, on the reserve list. I hope everyone on the list makes their spot, but I know thinks happen, so just in case, I will be waiting in the wings.

Hi Jim,

I have decided not to attend this trip, 15th Annual Delta/Voyage. I have so many things going on, after reading the post(s) of so many people wanting to go I felt that someone else would enjoy the trip.

Please take my name off the list. I enjoyed this trip so much last year! There will be next year, and I will be officially retired after 33 years with the University of CA.

Take Care, ED

Since Ed on Lady Madonna has dropped out, we now have our first waiting list C-Dory next in line.

John & Laurie on Slack Time, you are next up. Please confirm that you are on board for the 2017 Extravaganza.

Yes! Slack Time is all in... we would like to take the slot for the Extravaganza! I was not checking the CBrat site for a day or so and lo and behold we're up. Laurie and I look forward to taking Slack Time out for a bit of a voyage. Look forwarding forward to it.
John and Laurie
