Dear All:
Kath and I thank you all for your attendance at the Catalina Offshore Adventure. We had another great time!
This year there were several new folks and we enjoyed meeting you all and we hope you can come again. Kath and I thought you were all great additions to the trip. For you old timers, Kath and I always enjoy seeing you each year and catching up on life activities.
Steve, it was great fishing with you and Christopher. I have never been so out fished by a 12 year old in my entire life! Steve, thanks also for helping me with my tender outboard.
Roger, sorry you could not make it. Hope to see you and PJ next year.
One change for sure next year is that we will try not to depart and return out of MDR, but rather we will pick another spot for deploring from. We will likely use the launch place that Dr. Bob recommended last year.
When we got back to Marina Del Rey on Saturday morning, Bobby and Chris had their Dodge diesel truck broken into and had the dash and ignition ripped out. They were subsequently stranded for an extra day and had to rent a truck to get back to Northern California while their own truck had to be towed to a dealer for extensive repairs.
Though the West End of Catalina Island is Paradise, it is not the destination so much as the people that make these journeys so memorable. As John Eudy says, these trips are a lot of work and effort, but they are worth every minute of it. Again, thank you all for your contributions to this organization.
