12/16 - Lake Washington/Locks Cruise - CANCELLED

Tom, you need to start collecting commissions by now. First Jim and Joan and now timflan? Way to go!

Timflan, congratulations on the approval. It will be the best purchase you'll ever make. We've never once regretted our spontaneous decision two years ago at the SBS 2005. We love our C-Dory!

Well, our power came back on today, Sunday at around noon. Joe's house in Bellevue is still without power. I'm glad those of you who went to Sea Ray had a good time and made it home safely. It sounds like a day that timflan will write about in his memiors. I'm happy for him. For those of you who were disappointed, well, what can I say?

yOU are are welcome to our house for dinner.... and whatever... why not traliler done here for a party .... ya don;t need a boat...were here ....

Get out and go boating!!!

We had a fine time on the lake with tim and Julia. tim is getting into boating for one of the same reasons I did. We both spent time on boats with our families when we were young and have fine memories of it. i want james to have the same memories of his youth as i did. mountian lakes and camping, lots of fishing and just seeing new sights. James has the add benifit of see a lot of whales in the last two years. I never got that until now. Tim want s to spend time with his kids boat camping. He is a blue water sailor with a lot of sail boat experaince. Going 20 mph was more them enough for him. Tim got to run the SusanE the whole way down to the sea ray dealer and julia ran the boat thte whole way back. Glad to here that the boss agreed and is allowing tim to join the cult.. I mean club.

Ruth and joe where there with camria in hand as always. Love seeing you two agian. The dealer was giving rides in the tc225 and was stupid enough to let me drive. That thing gets up a goes. Really like the mercury engines they had mounted. We were doing drag race sprints across lake union from the west to east for 300 yard at most and I was getting above 45mph holing it there for a few before backing down. I would really love to get that boat out in some open water and see how it handles in the real world. The mecury fly by wire controls were really smooth and felt good.

As far as a kick back for sales i would love a new table for my boat. I love the set up sark has. The table set up that came with our boat is just a pain in the ass and I have been meaning to change it. In fact scot or some one from the factory said they would send me the parts if I emailed them last year at the boat show and I hav enot gotten time to do so. Doubt that they remember at this point. I also talked sark into his boat. It just took a year and that dam defiance to do so.

I just serviced the trailer to day and it looks like I need new brake pads. is this just like the dice pads in my car and truck. I have done those a lot and that should be no problem. I did try to bleed the bracks today but could not get even one bleed screw to turn. Well the boat is done for the year and put away. We will not use it agian until next year. About the third week of january. Should I winterize it??? :xnaughty

Get Out and boat

Starcraft tom-Thanks for the critique and the advice. I cancelled the cruise because I felt that , as an official C-Brat event, I had to make a timely judgement of what, under the circumstances, would be in the best interests of the participants safety and welfare. If I made an erroneous decision, you have my apology. Perhaps next year, when you organize and have responsibility for this event, you will decide otherwise. As for the tree in the driveway, you are correct. My neighbor, however, has one in her daughter's bedroom. Best regards, Marty P

dot, thats me just giving folks a hard time. if you have meet me you would know. sarcasim in my family is a full contact sport and we play for blood. You really got to watch mom, shes the mean one.

I have spent many a day cutting trees out of folks drive ways and houses in the serrias and here. Hell I spent two weeks after hugo cutting down trees on the navy base in charleston s.c. It made a really bad mess of the base housing. I hope that all of you that did not have the time to get out on the lake do so soon. being with out power and having tree thru your house is not that bad. at least you have a house for it to fall thru, and for that we should all be thankfull.

Glad a great day was enjoyed on the water. Glad no body was hurt with the fallen trees, the structure can be repaired. It does take time and effort putting on a gathering/event, and some responsibilities follow. Error on the safe side, and always able to reschedule. And yes Tom, like you, I can scuff up folks sometimes with my one liners. I truly mean no harm, and it hurts if I know I hurt someone. Yes, i like the bad weather stuff. That is why I am a guy in the SE that owns a pilot house type boat. I do not winterize.... I just stay out of the coves that are iced over. Summer, well... lookout Coleman and Honda...Byrdman will have AC on something come summer for the nights sleep.

Now...all yall that did not get to enjoy the locks and lake Washington.... just go ahead and sign up on the EVENTS link for the 1pm 26Jan07 Argosy Locks Cruise!! Again...just a bunch of C-Dory folks getting together for a good time around our Seattle Boat Show event stuff.

Really looking forward to getting back up the NW for my 3rd trip in a row for the show and kicking about with my fellow C-Dory Cult...clan, gang, group... owners.

You're right Tom. It's all relative. As for sarcasm, you might be good at it, but nobody beats us Hungarians! I don't need to borrow your chain saw, but if you've got a spare crane laying around let me know. I do hope to see you out on the water in the near future. :peace:

As for you Byrdman, I plan to be at the eastend of the locks on that day to escort you and the rest of the Argosy Brats through the ship canal. Maybe I can get Dusty to unpack one of those little saluting guns! Keep an eye out for me (us). Maybe I can convince Starcraft Tom to join me.!

Man, Sounds like everyone had a great time, wish I would have made it. A little crazy with all the power outages etc.. We figured it was cancelled and couldn't check the site since we had no power, so we decided to go shopping somewhere to keep the kids warm. Especially wish I was there knowing that Jeremy made it. He is a family freind, who I took fishing on the canal this year, needless to say we did pretty well, and he really, really liked my boat. Well I be out for christmas ships this week anyway. Wave me down if anyone else is out there.

Wow - it sure sounds like the lucky ones who went had a great day! Chris and I were SO disappointed when we saw the cancellation. We sure wish we had known some of you were still going, and we'd have been there for sure! Up here in Everett we've had power, heat.... all the comforts. So it would have been easy for us to participate. Anyway, I guess next time we'll know!

to tell you all the truth I did not know it had cancaled. I had not checked the site in the last few days before the gig.

I meet sarks freind and he really seemedset on a c-dory but could not choice between the 25 or the cat. Love driving that cat. hope everyone is getting there power back on. Seems the south and east got hammered while the north end just got a little wind.

Wind or no wind, I'll see you in Seattle soon. And there will be many more cruises.... I thought that was a good, safe call, Marty. To those who boated or drove to the slimmed-down gig, I'm glad you did.

Sorry I missed this get together. I am still without power and only go to this site when at work. I am a little behind at work so I have to pick and chose the threads to read.

I had to cut my way out of the driveway Friday. The road going south was blocked by down power lines and down trees. The county did not attempt to open the road until Tuesday. They just put road-closed signs up. Going out to the north, I had a few trees to top on the county road to get to work and by Saturday, the Chehalis River had flooded so the county closed that road also. There is a 400 ft stretch that regularly floods and the county puts up road closed signs on it when there is more than 6” of water on the roadway because of the strong currents. Us locals go around the signs until there is more than 18” of water across the roadway.

My neighbors tell me that Puget Power hopes to have our power restored sometime Thursday. However, we are suppose to have high winds late today and tonight so we may lose power again before we get it back on.

I sure am glad we are self-sufficient. Our water system is from a hillside spring and is gravity fed to the house. We heat with wood and I have an antique generator that keeps putting along. We just have to be selective on what appliances we use and at what time. Because of the voltage fluctuation when the water heater kicks on, I do not use the computers at home when generating our own power.

Terri actually likes it when we lose power. She is hoping it does not come back on until after Christmas. I hope the rest of you have gotten your power back on and any damage from the storm is minor.

Once we get power back on, it will take me a week to catch up on what is happening on this site. It looks like Joe finally overtook Pat on the total number post. When did that happen?

Dave-

Hope you and Terry are enduring well in the aftermath of the storms!

Sounds like Terry is a genuine Country Girl with a love for the Rural Life!

I passed Pat on Sunday at abut 10 am, but chose to ignore it as an unimportant event, at least for most folks. Had originally promised doing it for the 2008 Boat Show, but it looks like we shaved a year off that. Hope I haven't been too much of a pain in the process!

Nice nearing from you!

Joe.

Terri is about as country as you can get.
We are still without power.
Congratulations on becoming number two.
Are you going to go for the number one spot?
