12/15 - Lake Washington/Locks

Hi, lunch bunch. What a fun time I had today at Chinooks with all you Brats.

You're the kind of people who seamlessly fit into my life no matter how long we've been away. Sometimes before a gig I wonder if I have the verve, the vim, the vitality, the carbonation to meet the social voltage that is a Brat bash.

Then I go, have a fabulous time with relaxed, real people and wonder what the hell I was thinking. See you at the boat show!

Posted Saturday about 5am, but I didn't get back on the computer until last night when I read the invitations for the boat rides. Belated thanks for those offers.

On our way south from Bellingham we picked up Beth and Roger (SENSEI) in Stanwood. Had a great time visiting and telling jokes all the way down I-5 to Ballard. Met up with the boating Brats at Chinooks. Delicious lunch, more visitng and a surprise visitor, Brock (BAMBINA). So good to see him again. Met some new C-Brats (KAZOO II). Also Roger's (SEA DNA) mom, Anita from Illinois.

After many hugs and good-byes, everyone was on their way home. What a great day :thup Thanks Roger (SEA DNA) for setting up this CBGT.

Since we don't yet have an album for this gathering, I posted a few photos in mine. Here's Tom and Susan on the heavily decorated Susan E. I nominate this one for the front page of the site until at least new years!

Well, this was just a great little day cruise and lunch, so glad Roger and Lisbeth, Joe and Ruth and Brock came down to join us at Fisherman's Terminal - must say, however, that on the way back to the ramp from the SR 520 bridge down to the east channel bridge, Lake Washington was not on good behavior at all! LARGE waves crashing over the cabin roof! And some moron in a big yacht just about ran us down, I don't think he even saw us. But the stalwart little CD16 plowed through it all, the elderly 1991 Johnson VRO 40 never missed a beat! From what I have heard about these outboard engines, we may never need to repower!

Here's a better version of the photo I took of Susan E. I cropped it to better show the boat and did a little color balancing/adjustment to enhance the colors.

This version would make a better front page image than the one I posted above.

Hey, neat photos, Roger. Thanks.

I'm glad everyone made it back safely~especially you rugged mariner types who braved an unsympathetic lake and liquid skies. Saturday was one time I didn't mind choosing the comfort of my old metal jalopy to ferry me smoothly home.

Pat and Patty: been there, no fun, that. I'll leave the slamming and pounding to my favorite television rasslers Macho Mitch and Demon Deacon Dean. But I'll stand at center mat and raise your arms in appreciation and admiration for the frisky little junket undertaken in C-Dory's finest.
