Thanks Marc,

We are about 99% positive we will be there.

We'll be traveling from MN to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach and plan to arrive Oct 1 or so.

Not sure if we'll trailer over or take the boat. We'll check with Bob, Roger and Rick to see if they are going and how they will go.

We are really lookin forward to meeting all the fine folks and the awesome seafood. We have been to the area several times and like it a lot.

Did I mention that I have never lost an oyster eatin competition!!!!

Will stand by for details, I assume there will be dock space?

AND smoked mullet?

Capt Dan

Oysters and smoked mullet for sure ! Dock space available , as well as discounted rooms at the gorgeous Water Street Hotel . They have docks there for those who like to stay there and bring the boat too.
Look forward to meeting you !

Marc,
Topic Titles are hard to get changed...but we need to make sure that the photo album of this years event is correct...so when you create the event posting..be sure to change the 3rd Annual.....to the 4th Annual.....seeing we had the first in 2006 and I have been to two events, having missed last years...I come up with 4 not 3.....Gulf Coast Gatherings.

But Who's Counting?

Time Flys...it dosn't Slow Down.

Count the four yahoo's from Naples in for your head count.

I may be becoming C-nile . The boat biz this year has been a slow blur . Ill make the correction ! Perhaps Da Nag will help with the sign up sheet and properly post it . Ill P.M. correction now . You are pretty sharp for an old guy............
Marc

At least one of us will be there--hopefully both of us (we have to get Marie's sister to drive down from MS to stay with her mother).

Considering "roughing it" a night or two at the Water Street.

Marc,

Once you have the Water Street info lined up, please let us know who we need to book with to get the Wefings rate.

I'm looking forward to brushing up on my oyster shucking skills.

 Marc
We will be there cruising from Valparaiso in CHARITY. Plan to dock at John's place and sleep on the boat.

Ill be meeting with Water Street Hotel this week . If anybody else thinks they want a room and slip let me know as soon as you can . In fairness to them I dont want to ask for 12 rooms and only fill 6 and take rooms out of circulation . Ill add a few extras to the count to be available till about 2 weeks prior to the event. Its a great place to stay.......Ill post rate and contact info when I get it .

O.K. Marc,

We'll be there fer shure. It'll be our first attendance @ a CB gathering and we are excited about it.

Most likely we'll trailer over from OB. We also plan to dock at John's place and sleep on the boat. Is there something we need to do to secure that?

Also, where can we launch and safely leave the truck/trailer? We will need help finding John's place as well, or at least an address or a GPS way point.

Thanks Marc,

Have oyster or fillet knife, will travel.
Will shuck or fish 4 food.

John has a launch ramp right there at the house, and the truck and trailer will be right there with you as well !
We will look forward to meeting you !
I think we are going to have a great group this year !

Hello Diverboy,
Judy and I will be there with the pups, so tell that damn pet gator of Sherry's that Papillons don't taste like chicken so he better keep his distance.

We are considering a float plan depending on available time and weather...We may trailer to Crystal River and put in there and do a little cruise to the gathering...Judy is requesting an inside slip this year...but we will park the old girl..(boat) where ever space is available when we arrive.

We are looking foward to clear skys and moderate temps...and lots of great converstations with our fellow cult members.

Remember..were all in the same boat.

Nancy Here...

Is anyone interested in playing any types of games for some entertainment this year?

Here's a suggestion--its like a dirty santa gift exchange but with bingo as the means to distributing the gifts. The winner can choose a new gift or steal one for a previous winner. Game played until all gifts are gone (roughly an hour time limit).

Every participant would provide a gift valued at $10 and an additional twist is for everyone to donate $5 towards a jackpot awarded to the winner of the last game (a coverall game).

If this is something that you all may be interested in, please send me an email or give me a call, and I will provide the bingo material.

See you all at the gathering, nklugh@cox.net 850-758-0312

"dirty santa"?????
Mike , I think the gator out grew the boat basin . At least I hope so....
Inside slip should be no problem ,

Brenda and I have not missed any gatherings. A fun time for us while attending the past three (3) gatherings.

My son Rob and I have a father son boating adventure planned for late this month (September 2009) to the Erie Canal and New York City that could extend close to this date. Rob is a chemist and his job is demanding so the final plans are not complete.

We always stay at the Water Street a night or two before the gathering after cruising in from Orange Beach, FL.

We hope to be there but it's going to be close.
