10/21 - 10/23 - 5th Annual Gulf Coast Gathering

In the past we have passed the hat. Donations varied from one dollar to one hundred dollars per person or couple. I think we have to remember that Marc does this out of his pocket. Yes it is good for his business, but business is tough these days, and I think it is always responsible to make sure that most of his food and rental expenses are covered. There are lots of "hidden" expenses...

I really appreciate the offers of help . I will have a pretty hectic schedule with preparation for the Ft Lauderdale show the following weekend .So I will take a few folks up on the help offer ! We always appreciate the passing of the hat .
Bill and Brenda , Great to know you will be there . I am awaiting a call from Scott Boysen at Triton to see when we can get our new boats shipped . I am trying hard to have new product to play with [and sell]
Got a killer new competition BBQ to play with and the oysters and shrimp will be ready ! Dominic, our new full cajun employee may be showing off some cooking skills as well .
I am looking forward to a great time !

Hi Marc,

We would like to attend your gathering in Apalachicola. I've been to St. George's Island a few times but never on the water. The area has always appealed to me. I've heard many good things about your dealership and would like to check it out, and it's always a pleasure to meet new C-Brats. We recently enjoyed the gathering in Guttenberg IA.
It's quite a hike from Indiana, but I can visit family in Birmingham on the way.

We will expect be there Fri, Sat, and Sunday. We will stay on the boat.
Is there a marina where most C-Brats stay? What do you recommend. Of course we will need to launch and park the rig.
Are there any activities/cruises planned?

We are looking forward to the gathering and would appreciate any information or suggestions.

Bruce and Joyce , we are happy to have you join us ! We usually do a group cruise , and depending on the weather ,it can be a barrier island cruise or a river/Intracoastal expedition . There is the Water Street Marina for a buck a foot for C Brats and Tugnuts [ www.waterstreethotel.com ] , and its right down the creek from the gathering spot and has nice clean bathroom with shower. The Gathering spot itself ]Rivercrest] has spaces to tie up , and Ill have porta potties and there is a bathroom in the clubhouse, big porch , and romm for quite a few boats .
There are numerous ramps and you can keep your rig at Rivercrest and the Waterstreet Marina has parking .
We will look forward to meeting you !

Hey Marc,

If I can find someone to ride from the Atlanta area with me I'll be attending to the gathering. Exactly where in Apalachicola is it held? What's the status on available rooms for Saturday night?

Vince Zappia

Vinny, It may be difficult to find a room , so i will try to help if you know you are coming . Its held at a place called Rivercrest lodge and its website is here
There are a couple small cabins that may be available nearby that are off the normal hotel radar . Ill try to see if they are available.
Marc

Dominic [new Wefing's service and warranty guy]is psyched to make a killer Gumbo [with all you La. and Miss. guys help] Fri night .
Have had a few requests for a "schedule" I am sort of unfamiliar with the concept , but roughly we will get together Fri. and situate ,have dinner Fri with bountiful seafood, and all get settled, meander in on Sat. AM with breakfast starting around 8 am stretching all the way to when we are done, Cruising en masse from the late morning to late afternoon.
Think we will celebrate [roast] a suckling pig Saturday as well as Barbecue other items ,followed by socialization, conversation ,exaggeration, and musical entertainment along with a festival of food .Been wanting to do that for a while .
Sun A.M we feed a fun breakfast again, and reminisce, make future plans , play around and consider how lucky we all are and especially the ones that can stay here on their boats or keep traveling !! And maybe take another cruise . Or eat some more .Or play more music.
Itinerary subject to change .
Marc

Marc,
Let's see if I've got the agenda right. We start sometime and we stop sometime with eats and drinks in the middle. That about right?

Oh yea, boating. Forgot about that part. Of course, technically, that's just an additional venue for further eating and drinking.

Hello C-brats,
We just wanted to introduce ourselves. We are Bill & Becky Smith from Jacksonville, FL and have been following this website and are thinking of buying a C-dory. We plan to attend and are looking forwarded to meeting you all and learning more about C-dory's! We would love to cruise on Saturday with someone and our number is 904-859-2563 (Bill). We should arrive Friday for dinner gathering! bb

Bill and Becky, welcome to the site! I had planned to come but my bride has an art show opening on Saturday night that I really have to attend. Used to live in Jacksonville (1970-73) when I was in the Navy. You'll like the CBGT (CBRAT Gathering). Hope you find a boat you like. If you decide on a TomCat, I happen to have a spare one!

Enjoy!

Charlie

Things are coming together , we have a few boats here already , including Two Bears from Idaho!Ill think they'll win the distance award by road .Rich E. Is here by water from Pascagoula, MS. ,Bill and Brenda are here from Arkansas, Little Tug Boots [John and Boots] are here from White Springs Fl , and the cast will grow larger tomorrow . Have a number of folks that will be new to the whole C-Dory and Ranger Tug experience . I hope they become as enamored with the boats and the people as I have , and learn from the owners about the joys of boating !And gatherings !

Today starts the Gathering! Looks like we're in for some beautiful weather with just a slight chill. I'm excited for my first gathering and meeting all the C-Dory, Ranger Tug, and "interested in" folks. I will be making a gumbo tonight. I will be answering questions that I can but I have a feeling yall will have a lot to teach me. lol. I know we're going to have a great time and build some great relationships.
