You have it! One slide show coming up. (I spent most of the spring organizing a slide slow from the days at college 50 + years ago--800 slides, condensed into 25 minutes--but that was far more difficult, since one of the photos were in digital format....

We can probably throw in a little high def video in the slow also.

OK I went to the beautiful Water Street Hotel today and blocked rooms for the Gathering . Please e mail me for info . I have 6 right now at $139.00 for Thurs. and $159.00 for Fri and Sat . If you bring a boat its one dollar a foot for slip . Regular rates are $159 and $179 plus $1.50 a foot for slips . It is a wonderful place . Of course we will have the docks ready at John's as well . Plus I have a couple slips in the city marina with power and water. First come first serve .

Friday and Saturday were pretty good ocean conditions, the kind I like to run for tuna, no tuna heard of within 85 miles of Newport , so went out for halibut at the chicken ranch one day and the rock pile the other, we limited out both days, but it took a while, nothing really big 34 was the biggest. I covered approx. 65 miles on 20 gallons of gas with my 06 e-tech 90, I was trying to figure out what range I would have for tuna with out carrying any extra gas, and if this was pretty good range for burning 20 gallons of fuel, this was in my 22ft c-dory, any comments, thanks  :dog :smiled

I hope your going to bring some of that Tuna and halibut to the 10/17 - 10/19 - Gulf Coast Extravaganza. Marc really know how to cook that combination.. Stuffed with some shrimp and oysters... I can tast it now.

Marc,
Alan and I are planning to be there if we can. We plan on leaving the North Channel the end of this week making our way south. We look forward to meeting everyone and hope we will be finished with the loop and flying our gold flag.

Hi Marc,

A few questions for you regarding the gathering:

1. Are kids welcome? Our 8 year old will be on fall break that weekend. Have any other kids attended past gatherings?

2. Is there room for another boat at John's for the weekend. We would prefer to stay there on Life of Riley rather than in a hotel.

3. Could I get a street address for John's....for Mapquest.

Thanks,

Rob, Karen & Riley

In the past, boats have rafted and there always seemed to be room for one more boat--some shoe horning necessary, as well as walking over others boats--usually the neighbor allows several boats to tie up at their dock.

The Latittude of John and Sherry's home is about 29 deg, 45.95' N and Longitude is about 85 deg, 02.40' W. I believe that the house is on a side street off Bluff Road.
The home is just North of the Railroad bridge--and is fairly recognizable from the water (see the photos of prior gatherings). There is a ramp on the Property--but many launch at the Apalachacola Ramp. We personally enjoy the comradery of staying at the house.

Thanks Bob , I was busy to day being involved with John and Sherry's wedding !We went out to Bird Island off of St Vincent reserve and had a sandspit wedding with the birds !John and Sherry took the big 48'
sport-fish and I drove the wedding party in Johns Hurricane Deck boat . It was a very nice ceremony and they had made a beautiful driftwood altar . Ill post a shot or two for those that know my partner John and his official new Wife Sherry. A great time was had by all . Rob and Karen , in answer to you questions about the gathering , All C-Brats no matter what ages are welcome . There is plenty of room and we have overflow if we need it . We will have fun cruising the area ,and eating lots of good food . We haven't had a lot of kids in the past , but not because they are not welcome ......We will take him on a journey he will remember for a long time .
Ill look for a link to the map , but as Bob said , its there on last years or the year before's discussion.
