Hi,
Since there seemed to be some interest on the other thread here is an 09 version that came up with the same basic findings. Dodge is the 2010 truck of the year but Duramax still seems to have edged out the torgue and horsepower ratings of the 2010 Cummins according to there respective current websites. I have nothing but respect for Fords ability to not require any bailout. I had an 07 Ford gas 4x4 which my son still owns and 2001 gas 4x4 Chevy which I liked better, for me I'm just a Chevy guy. I am not a Dodge guy, but I did like Lee Iaccoca. Our 09 Chevy Duramax has only about 1100 miles so far so good. It's getting about 16 mph around town. This year we will drag the boat up to Maine for a cruise along with weekends at the Jersey shore. Next year we will tow the boat down to Florida keys in March with a stop at Float On trailers to have brakes upgraded to electric over hydraulic at the factory. Then it's on to Yellowstone and Grand Teton in the middle of August in 2011. If I live that long enough, Alaska looms ahead for 2012 or 13. Our boat travel plans is why I made the decision to buy a new truck. You know how I am about the warranty thing. Blah, blah, blah, For daily, work, errands, I have a little 07 Honda Civic sedan which does a fine job no unintended floor mat problems. Enough about me. Travel plans you want to share? Love to hear em. Let's try to keep this thread a happy possitive one.

Sheesh...even a lowly Dodge, can work it's way up to the speed limit.

Ive been doing alot of driving this year n my 2005 2500 Duramax/Allison crew cab shortbox 4WD W/100k miles,Around Atlanta boat show time I was getting a case of Dually Fever[I really DO have an excuse] and started reading a little about em and feel like the 2005-2006 are the most desirable years for those GMC and Chevy trucks .They aint cheap anymore for new ones and good used ones are getting more scarce as a result . Then I thought to myself ,"self", I have this truck dialed in with programmer,4"exhaust,cold air intake ,52 gallon underbed tank,it gets 20 plus on the highway, everything works and I know how its been maintained . So , I decided to buy birthday presents for the truck instead . This year will be Firestone Air Rides with onboard compressor and maybe even auto leveling . That will make her a little closer to the dually of my dreams ,but she's paid for ! Now if I just had time to travel other than delivering and picking up boats ............Marc

truck plans- drive the 2001 F150 untill wheels fall and then maybe upsize to a Mitsubishi Fuso FG140 & build a little camper shell to put on it.
Any newer big three diesel trucks scare me. They stuff a medium duty truck engine in a light duty truck & it just seems like expensive trouble waiting to happen. I want a tough, dependable, slow, rough riding truck.....just like a C-dory.

travel plans- we hope to work in a Lake Powell trip this spring & then off to the prison labor camp for the summer :).

Bill I have a set of those but its been so cold this winter they just sort of shriveled up into the undercarriage ............
