7th Annual NC gathering to be held Sept. 20, 21and 22 at Whittaker Point Marina 5001 maritime Drive Oriental NC. 252-249-1750 $ 1 per foot slip fee and $5 shore power. Contact Ashley at the Marina for slip rental or PM me with information and I will make reservations for you. I hope everyone will join us for a laid back NC week-end.

Joan and I are in and this time OSPREY will be along.
Joan retires the end of this month and I retire (on paper) the end of September but am now burning my leave and working part time until mid August.
Bottom line is we will have lots of playtime ahead of us.

I would love to join. This of course would be a brand new experience and I hope you all don't mind a "newcomer" crashing the party. Please keep sharing as many details as possible so I can become familiar with the routine and what to expect.

Jim and Sandy, We are so glad you two will be there this year. We had a great time with you guys a few weeks ago. We hope you are enjoying you trip to Oak Island and time with your family.

Just a few short years ago we were the Newbies. We picked our new boat up the day of the event. Folks made us feel welcome and I promise you will be just as welcome.

Anyone interested in going onto Bald Head Island???

Bald Head Island is at ICMM = 310
Oriental is at ICMM = 180
Total = 130miles

Leaving Whittaker Pointe Marina on Sunday morning.....
assuming an average of 10mph,
then we could stop at Swan Point Marina, Sneeds Ferry, NC..
which is about 60 miles...
or half way from Oriental.

Monday we could proceed to Bald Head Island,
spend Monday on the island.
We could eat dinner at MoJo's......rent golf carts.....
tour the island..........enjoy their sandy beaches.....
or you could even stay at a great B&B if wanted off the boat.

Both these marina's are highly recommended
on the Active Captain web site.

Tuesday we could head back to Sneeds Ferry
then on to Oriental on Wednesday and home.

So if anyone is interested.......lets discuss a bit more.
Nutttting formal...just do it.

We could even head to Wilmington River Walk and
enjoy their river walk and a good restaurant for lunch,
prior to heading back to Sneeds Ferry.

For folks looking for off water lodging Oriental Marina and Inn has nice accommodations 252-249-1818 Also River Neuse Suites is very nice 252-249-1404

The boat ramp is located at 100 Midyette Street. Rigs can then be shuttled back to park at the Marina

Friday Night will be potluck at the marina around 6pm

Glad to see you are having the gathering again this year. Suzanne and I are going to try and make it this year. We currently have a commitment for that weekend, however we are going to try to wiggle out.

We would love to attend this event and meet some other C-Brats. If I had another week's vacation time, we would cruise down from Norfolk. Looks like we will have to leave the boat home (don't have a trailer) and drive down.
