09/11 - 09/13 - Sequim Bay CBGT

Just got home. Did a quick rinse of the boat/trailer, unloaded some items and will re-stock what we need for overnight. We're coming. I did a mix of cojoling, begging, bartering and whining...but Meredith agreed to do the trip. Leaving first thing in the a.m. from Everett. Anyone know how long a run, assuming I'm doing 10 knots? I'll giver Roger a call on the cell.

Late post as usual from Crazy Frazey...signed up Tuesday night, have the boat in the driveway tonight, leave tomorrow about 6:30 am and hope to be there and settled before noon. Time to go to bed so I can get up and drive over.

Look forward to seeing everyone!

Safe travels,

John & Amy

Thanks to all for the warm welcome we received when showing up sans boat today for the Gathering. It was nice to be able to put some faces to names and boats. We look forward to see you all again in the future, on the water and at Gatherings.

Just back from Sequim. Wonderful weather and ...as usual...wonderful Brat company. Thanks very much Roger and Janet, Harv and Deena. Even the water was great in both directions. A fine end to the "Official" 2009 PNW CBGT season. Now on to the "unofficial" mini-gatherings.

Wow! What a fun-filled weekend. Thanks to the Sequim Posse, Harvey and Deena of Sleepy-C and Paul and Verla of JC Lately for all the help. Special thanks to Chris and Sharon of Second Love, honorary C-Brats for their support and help. Chris has already alerted me to a breaking After CBGT Story! We'll wait for fotos of this one but it involves a wet C-Brat!

The meals together, dinners and todays breakfast were awesome. So, back to the diet! The fellowship of C-Brats is truly priceless. Thanks so much to each family who traveled long distances to attend. John & Amy got the long distance award for coming from Tigard, OR, a 5 hour drive, to launch nearby and boat in to the event. Relative newbies, Mark & Meredith of AuKai boated the farthest from Everett. Meredith sporting her new cast to attest to the fact that Brats will go to extremes to get off work and attend these events!

I, personally , have accomplished my goals for the boating year. Worn my Keen sandals every day since June 15, except for Church on Sundays, and attending all 8 CBGTs in the Great pacific Northwest. We're looking forward to next year already with plans forming for a trip to the West Coast of Vancouver Island and to a few of the lakes of Eastern WA and ID.

We'll see you all at the Boat Show in Seattle.

Roger & Janet

Roger and Janet - Sorry we missed it. We had to run out to Neah Bay this weekend to retrieve my boat (I moored it out there since July). I couldn't resist fishing out there so I wound up driving past the Sequim gathering to get to my boat and the offshore coho. On the bright side, the ocean did reward me with about 30lbs of coho fillets from just the four fish we were allowed to keep on Sat. Maybe we'll make it next year. Did anyone at the gathering fish this year? It should have been good.

Well, I can't believe I missed this one again, but at least I'll get to see some pics (please!).

Well, we can't believe that we had to miss out on attending this CBGT as we'd been looking forward to being there. We were certainly thinking about all of you this beautiful sunny weekend!

What a Great Weekend. Thanks to everyone for coming and sharing in the good times. There were boat tours, dock discussions, training seminars, safety workshops, cool pet tricks, flashlight competitions, good food and excellent weather.

And yes, Roger, C-Daisy did go fishing and caught two fish, (Karl will have to fill in the details here).

Thanks Roger and Janet for arranging the Sequim Bay Yacht Club meeting room for the pot luck Sat night. Thanks to Matt Guernsey for bringing really cool C-Dory prizes. (hats, T-shirts and Vests) and the key floats. Thanks to Paul and Verla for helping with transportation. Thanks to Dan and Tanya for the help with the West Marine gift bags. Thanks to Jeff and Sandy for helping with the transportation too. And, thanks to everyone for just being such great friends.

We had a very good time and are planning the same again next year, start planning, and keep that second weekend in Sept clear so we can see you all again.

Glad you all came and hope everyone gets home safe, (there are some who went north to the islands for a few days before returning home -- Chester, C-Renity and maybe JC Lately).

:hot :D   :?: :cake :cocktail :moon :star :photo :hug :hug2

Huge Mahalo to Roger & Janet and Harvey & Deena for all their dedication and for organizing this and making this a great weekend. We enjoyed seeing everyone, meeting some new faces and we are already look forward to "next" boating season. Thanks to Dan & Tanya for putting up with our rafting next to them.

AWESOME call on the weather and we had a fun, although very quick, trip. The water was perfect: http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?...ame=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php

Left at about 0830 on Sunday and were back to the fiasco of the Everett ramps by 1215. (The boats were 4 & 5 deep at the haul out ramps; guess all the "fisherman" wanted to get home for the Seahawks game. Most were patient & cooperative, w/ the exception of the a**hole who hauled his boat at a launch ramp. Guess he was more important than everyone else. )

Once we got home and got the boat unloaded, cleaned and put away it was about 1500. Enough time to watch some NFL, cook a couple of burgers for dinner and I hit the pillow early...and hard. A good end to a great week. 8)

Thanks everyone!!! Amy, Teddi and I had an excellent time seeing old and new friends.

Wonderful weather and a beautiful drive home!

I am bringing this gathering back to the top even though it has already passed.... well worthwhile to reminisce about such a tremendous weekend and we had not had an opportunity to post previously.

Great company and conversation w/ folks sharing a common interest in boating and C-Dorys, nice weather, and good food all in the beautiful setting of Sequim Bay. What more can one desire for a long weekend.

We sure are glad we bought a C-Dory since it opened up the opportunity to meet so many great people both at this gathering and others we have attended.

Tanks again Roger and Janet, Harvey and Deena, and Paul and Verla for organizing things, providing transport, and for setting a fine table both Friday evening and for the Saturday evening potluck. The Sequim Bay Yacht Club which the Clarks organize is a great potluck location.

P.S. Enjoyed bunking next to you guys Mark and Meredith. Hope you guys - and everybody else we spent time with - make it to the Seattle Boat Show gathering.

Take care,
Dan & Tanya
