09/11 - 09/13 - Sequim Bay CBGT

Mark,

Sorry you won't be able to be here. Guess we'll have to hold the mahi mahi til next year, huh?

See you then.

mmmmmmmm...mahi mahi..... :smilep

Yeah, I'm a little bummed. I wanted to cruise to somewhere I'd never been and this would've been the perfect scenario; see everyone AND go somewhere new. :( We're now planning to head south on the 8th; Everett to Gig Harbor for an overnighter, then on to Port Orchard (visit my brothers) and finally, Poulsbo for the night. Should be back in Everett by the 11th as M has to work on the 12th.

Don't want to get off topic from the Sequim Bay SP CBGT, but wonder if those that are coming have and or use float plans, and if so, would mind bringing a copy along to share what they use and how they use it.

Also, just want to get a reminder up that we are not that far away, miles or time. See you all soon.

Sequim Bay State Park CBGT coming up soon. Sooner, Mars is showing up now and will still be visible from the State Park dock if you are still up late enough. Closest tonight in 2500 years, hope you all are checking it out while you are packing for Sequim.

Cathy and I will be arriving around dark thirty on Friday evening.
Cathy is held hostage by the two grand kids every Friday until about 4pm.
As soon as the little terrorist are gone we will be heading north in a hurry.

Weather permitting, we are hoping to head up to the San Juans - or perhaps points even further north - following the Sequim Bay CBGT for at least a couple days, possibly for the entire week. We will play it by ear in as causal a manner as we can.

If any of the other Sequim Bay CBGT attendees had any inclination to do the same, please let us know. Would enjoy the company.

Hopefully, the mid September post-weekend timing will allow us to find things a bit quieter in the SJ's then earlier in the summer.

Take care and looking forward to seeing everybody at Sequim!

Be safe,
Dan & Tanya

I've done a few mid-September trips to the SJs. Compared to the summer months, the post Labor Day crowds are miniscule. We never had a problem locating a buoy to tie up to and the camp sites were empty. The sun was ususally out, although the mornings & evenings were cooler. Not hot like summer, but not a stampede of boats either. Enjoy...

Tanks for the feedback on the SJ's in mid-September Mark.

We had the pleasure of accompanying Roger and Janet Clark on Dreamer - and Bob and Betsy Birks on Sea Pal for a few days - up there this past May in the time period between the Friday Harbor and Anacortes CBGTs.

Things were wonderfully quiet and empty and we managed to get on the dock at both Jones Island and Sucia for the night due to the lack of boats.

Sorry you guys won't make it over to Sequim. Will hopefully meet you again in the not too distant future at another gathering.

Take care,
Dan & Tanya

Larry, We will be looking for you. Coming by water I'm sure, right? Coming around Point Wilson, watch the tide rip out by the bouy. It's OK to come around on the inside of it. May be some kelp there, but between the kelp an the bouy is plenty of good water, and keeps you out of the rip.

Dan, Sure wish we could go north with you two for a spell. Would love some peace and quiet up in the islands. We are thinking of it as a possibility for Labour day Weekend, but so are about 2M of our friends and neighbors I'm sure.

Mark, Guess we won't see you until the SBS CBGT unless we have a bit of serendipity before then. Hope the ankle is healing well.

Ken, Thanks for the Marstiming post. I got up to see it the other night, Bright, and colors with my binocs.

It IS, Harvey. Thanks for remembering. 8) I'm happy to say I have an appt with my surgeon on Thursday and I should be back to regular duty after Labor Day. It's been a long road. Happy boating and sorry I'll miss this.

Harvey, I peeked at Mars this AM without binocs. It's especially easy to find after Venus (the bright morning star) comes up. Just look for the reddish star at about the one o-clock direction fron Venus.

Adrienne and I are really looking foreward to seeing everyone.

Back up top.

Any C-Dory's in the area that are not signed up here yet? Please do, we are looking for you. I have talked to several that we have seen lately, all the way from MatsMats Bay to the 16 with the four guys fishing out of John Wayne. come on out and join the fun. Visitors are welcome too. If you are reading this you know who you are, and we are expecting you, so come on by.

I plan on driving up on Sat without my boat, as I will be out of town until late Friday or early Sat morning. Should be there afternoonish.

Back to the top with this one!
We're currently trying to get a handle on the numbers, 25 folks at this point according to the list. If you have decided to attend or not attend, please add or remove your names from the sign up list.

Friday night we'll stick around the park and have BBQ Ribs and all the fixins. Sat. night is the Pot Luck at the Sequim Bay Yacht Club Room. Sunday Breakfast at the world famous Oak Table!

I have new name tags for Mamalena, Jeff & Sandy and R-Matey. If you haven't saved yours from a previous CBGT, PM me and they will be ready for you.

See you all in Sequim.

Roger, I was just looking at the old name tags which will now be souvenirs of times past. Thanks for thinking of us. See you soon.

Sandra and I will be coming over with the C-Joy on Friday evening. Are most people staying at the State Park?

What are the plans for Saturday? We will be bringing Smoked Salmon and Pulled Pork.

Randy and Sandra

Our beagles Coco and Copper will be with us too!

Randy, Sandra and all,

We will be gathering throughout the day at the Sequim Bay State Park dock. Folks who bring boats usually stay on them at the dock. The park has showers. Dinner that night will be near the dock and is provided by the Sequim Posse. The Salmon and/or Pulled Pork could be a wonderful addition then or at the pot Luck Saturday night. Breakfast Saturday will be provided on the dock by Harvey and Deena from Sleepy-C.

During the day Saturday there are several options. There is a boating equipment garage sale at the home of some friends who have boated 40 years! If any of the ladies (or guys) want to pick some berries at a local farm, bring a bucket! If anyone just wants to wander downtown Sequim, we should have sufficient vehicles to accommodate that too. Of course, there's always a boat ride too!

We'll plan on getting back to the boats by 4:00 or so to get ready for the Pot Luck. It will be in the Sequim Bay Yacht Club's club room at John Wayne Marina. Drinks and social hour at 5:00, dinner at 6:00.

We will carpool everyone who wishes to go to the Oak Table Restaurant in Sequim for Breakfast Sunday at 08:30 to beat the crowds.

It's getting close and we're getting excited to see everyone.
