Sunday, Sep. 13: If some would like to make another cruise, we can depart Alton for the town of Grafton, passing Our Lady Of The River monument on the way. In Grafton there many neat restaurants, one of which is on the top of the bluff offering a great view of the Illinois and Mississippi rivers. It also has a zip line you can use to return to street level for those with a need for more excitement.

At some time during the event, we are expecting a visit by a well known celebrity, time unknown.

Can't wait to see you all in Sept.

Ken and Pat (Pelican)

Wow Ken! This sounds like a great agenda, count the Tully B with Jan and Lee in for the whole thing. We can arrive early if there is any help that you guys need, just let us know. Lee

Hello all,

It sounds like you have a great gathering coming up. Sadly, once again, Carpy will not be able to be there. We have been on the hard this year. In April I had surgery on a cancerous colon and am now taking chemotherapy for the rest of the year. Joyce is looking at surgery for a deteriorating ankle. So we are more like barnacles than boaters this year. We are managing quite well and hope to back on the water next year. We will miss seeing our old friends and meeting some new ones.

Have fun,
Bruce & Joyce

As it looks now, I'll come off a chemo infusion on thursday and it takes 3-4 days
feel human again.

I have yet to meet the celebrity guest in person. Maybe we will both be there next
year.

Bruce

Sorry to hear of your situation, Pat and I were looking forward to seeing you guys this year. We will now look forward to seeing you in 2016. Don't tell anyone, but the 2016 Gathering will likely be at the Two Rivers Marina, across the river from Louisiana, Missouri. I tell you this secret because we want you to know where to join us next.

Stay well and God bless.

Ken and Pat (Pelican)

Hi Ken,

Way to keep a secret , Ken. We hope to see you then.
Joyce still has her flowers, but we don't water them anymore.

Bruce & Joyce

Bruce-
Sorry to hear that you and Joyce won't be at Alton this year. We were looking forward to visiting with you guys.... always such a pleasure.

Take care and we'll see you next year.

Since a few in this group are a little cranky,

I will bring something for them to crank on.

Home made vanilla ice cream should go well with pie.

Don't forget your swim suits, In addition to the pool and hot tubs at Alton,

The marina at Grafton on Sunday also has a pool.

Hi Tex, I know how to crank an ice cream maker and Jan knows how to make pies, however, I don't know how long we can keep the pies fresh. On what day would you like to do the pie and ice cream? Lee on the "Tully B"

We will be trailering our C-Dory from Wisconsin to Florida in Sept. So we plan on joining everyone in Alton for your gathering! Will arrive Wednesday or Thursday. Looking forward to meeting new "Brats" and a few familiar faces like Bill and Brenda. Sorry to hear that Bruce and Joyce can't make it. Bruce just be sure to get well by winter so that you can join us at Hontoon Island in March! If there is anything we can do to help let us know.

See you then....

What part of Wisconsin? We'll be trailering from near Madison, probably start out late Wed evening and stop some where, and then the rest of the way on Thursday. Colby

Hi Colby
We spend our summers at a campground near Wild Rose if you know where that is. Our grandkids are in Waupaca which is about 20 miles away. Nice boating on the Wolf River which is also about 20 miles or so away. We will watch for you on the way!

Not sure where Wild Rose is. Just looked it up, and appears to be a bit north of us, but looks like you come straight down 90/94/39 thru Madison. We are in the next town south of Madison, Stoughton. We might see each other on the way down! :-) I hope to leave after work on Wednesday around 4:30p, and stop somewhere on the other side of the Illinois border for the night. (Not sure I want to launch close to midnight. :( Colby

Two Bears will be launching in Minneapolis around the weekend of Aug 15/16 and after a few days in "town" will head down river to the Gathering. Schedule unplaned, unknown, erratic & changeable, but plan to arrive in Alton before the gathering.
I'm thinking of flying back to Minneapolis to fetch truck & trailer, probablly on Monday after the gathering. Is there a shuttle from Alton to St Louis airport? Decided not to use the train for serveral reasons. Haven't yet made flight reservations, after all this is an adventure. Isn't it?

Haven't decided what river to travel after the Mississippi Gathering and before the Gulf Gathering, but probablly the upper Tennessee or Ohio rivers. Then launch near Mobile a week before the Gulf Gathering.
