09/10 - 09/13 - Mississippi River 2015

Thanks for the offer, but a lot of us trailered in, so we have ground transportation for supplies.

We will be on a day trip in the boats down to the Arch most of the day Saturday,
Should be back by 4 or 5 PM Saturday afternoon, Join us at the Alton marina after that if you can.

Sunday we are boating up to Grafton.

Thanks for heads up!

Might catch up with ya at docks late afternoon.

Would LOVE to meet y'all in Grafton Sunday, but already sprung for Seahawks / Rams tix.

Stay safe on the river!

And some wannabes up in Jerseyville are gonna try to get down to the river to see the boats. Approximately what time(s) are you planning to be in Grafton on Sunday? If you didn't already know, there is an art-in-the-park festival going on in Grafton all weekend.
Thanks!

Rosanne and I had a great time, but we'll be pulling out in the morning to head back home. Wish we could make the lunch trip! Just uploaded some photos to the Gathering Album. Would love to see the group photos and any other photos of the Midnight Flyer that others took. Thanks to everyone that provided meats, pies, ice cream, beverages, etc! It was all great! Colby

I know it's soon after the event. But looking forward to getting some names and email addresses of others that came to the gathering. Not sure what my plans are for next year. I would love to be out west for the "Grand Slam" gatherings now. I do very much enjoy my school bus driving job in retirement from the airlines, but life is short and I am "retired" from my flying career after all. lol. Just wish some of these gatherings were done during the summer months. Maybe we'd see some younger folks attend while their kids are on summer vacation. September and October is a great time to travel, especially out west. I may have to reconsider what's more important to me when school starts up next year. But might be nice if some of the events/gatherings were planned during the summer months as well! Colby
P.s., how about a few more photos in the photo album. I know I wasn't the only one taking pictures!

Joyce and I just got back home to Florida Sunday. All the way back from Alton we just could not stop talking about the GREAT time we had with our fellow C-Brats at the Mississippi Gathering! Getting together with old friends and making lots of new friends....that's what it is all about. Of course we enjoyed the burgers, the pies, the red and white hots, the pies, the salads, the pies, the muffins and all the other goodies. Oh.....and did I mention Jan's pies!

Ken, Pat, Tex and Sharon were all the Best of Hosts! Ken asked me when I got there to grade the gathering at the end. Final grade A PLUS! We have already put the 2016 Mississippi Gathering on our calendar. For those that plan on coming down to the St. John's River gathering first weekend of March, I promise a good time.

Colby....If you want a gathering in the summer start one! If you plan it "Brats" will come. Lots of nice areas in Wisconsin and the UP.

Thanks Again..Tom and Joyce

We need to mention that Bixby Club, Pelican and Blue Rose, headed right for Lake Powell after the Mississippi Gathering! Their presence added a fully other dimension to the Powell gathering! Maybe we can make the Mississippi gathering next year. We really enjoyed hearing about it, and the other trips taken by the folks there!

If it's as simple as that, just planning it and listing it, maybe I should look at the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior during the middle of the week second or third week in June. (At least we are planning a trip there then!) :-) Otherwise Door County sometime on Green Bay in Lake Michigan. Unfortunately, the marinas there get kind of pricey. But it's a beautiful area. :-) Colby

Mississippi River 9/10/2015 9/13/2015

A big THANK YOU to Sharon and Tex from Texas for another great gathering " Meet in the Middle" These old bones in Arkansas will be there in 2016 if they do not fuse together. Also a big thanks to Chuck and Penny for helping with our truck and trailer.

After 735.1 water miles and 17 days we pulled "Falcon" out of the water at Watergate Marina, St Paul, MN. Brenda lets out a whoop in relief. The road trip home was excruciating another 978 miles.

We have never missed an Apalachicola Gathering scheduled for October 23, 2015.
