09/07 - 09/10 - Mississippi River Gathering 2017

TYBOO, can you set up a Mississippi River 2017 photo album for the members who have photos of the gathering?

Thanks in advance for all the work you do.

Well, another great gathering under my belt. A time to renew old friendships and make new friendships. And eat way too much! Always so hard to say goodbye at the end, wishing we all would be at another gathering next month! I'll upload my photos to the photo album that goes along with this thread, although I didn't get too many. Thanks to those putting this together and providing the great food! Colby

A big THANK YOU to Ken & Pat (Pelican), and Tex & Sharon (Bixby's Cub) for the planning and orchestrating of another great C-Brat gathering. Also, a big THANK YOU to Terry & Jay for cooking up such great chow for the group. For the short time we were there, we had a wonderful time and it was fun visiting old friends and meeting new ones. Thank you also to Dan & Peggy (Lake Effect) for inviting us aboard for the comfortable and casual cruise to LaClaire. We thoroughly enjoyed your company. Hopefully we'll get to see everyone again next year !

It was good to see a few fellow C-Brats today at the gathering in Clinton. Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay long because we are scheduled to fly back home to prepare for this impending hurricane. Maybe we can make it to Hontoon Island in March. Jonathan and Rosa aboard Salty

Hope all is well at Honest John's! I wear my HJFC cap just about every day. We are at Alton Marina until Wednesday when we head down to Hoppies and the long run to Green Turtle Bay!

What a great turn out! Colby thanks for sharing your pictures. I will try to make it there next year with Lil'Sis and bring my dad along (Doug England).

Hi All,

Ken, Pat, Tex & Sharon want to thank everyone for coming to the Mississippi Gathering. It was so much fun to see our old C-Brat friends and meet new ones.

We missed all who could not make the gathering and wish them all the good luck with the devastation going on in there areas. May you all stay safe. our prayers are with you.

We hope Thataway can still make their trip, sounds like a wonderful time.

We especially want to thank the New York gang, Terry & Jay, for their great contribution of food and for doing all the cooking. Great job, again.

Thank you Tom (Sea Otter) for the ride up to Guttenberg, Very generous of you.

As mentioned, we will probably end up in Alton Marina next year. Finding a marina on the Mississippi that can handle this many boats is nearly impossible. I called Alton Marina and they were very pleased we were returning. Great place.

Thanks again for all that helped with the gathering and we look forward to seeing everyone next year.

Everyone had told us the "Meet In The Middle" gathering was not to be missed. We took their advice and indeed it was a great experience. Our thanks to all for making a couple of "boatless" souls feel very welcome and we look forward to seeing many of you at Hontoon Island (if it survived Irma) in March.

Special thanks to the organizers. We are well aware of the extra effort required and the many unsung heroes and heroines who gave assistance on short notice.

Once again I forgot to give our sincere thanks to a very lovely lady, Jan of the Tully B. The Mississippi River Gathering would not be the same without her amazing talent to make the best of pies. We always look forward to the great pies and are never disappointed. Thank you Jan and Lee

Posted a few new pics, now that I have some bandwidth. Were home after 6 weeks on the boat. Trent Severn and the Mississippi River gathering.

I seem to remember somebody at this gathering said they had a survival suit that they could part with. Not sure if I'll get to Alaska this coming year, or the following year, but I'll be looking for a survival suit. I'm 6' tall, and a little on the thicker side at about 230 lbs. Most stuff I wear is XXL. If anyone has a survival suit they'd like to sell or loan out, let me know. At this time it looks like one suit will suffice, but there is always a possibility I would need two. Thanks. Colby

Colby, We were the one's with the "gumby suits". One is an "intermediate" fits 59" to 70" and to 180 lbs. The other one's marked "adult" with no other markings. I am 6'-4" and 200 lbs. It fits me loosly. I think the adult suit would fit you OK. They always fit loose. Both are new and only tried on and hauled around on the boat. Never in the water. Both are "Imperial Immersion Suits"

A lousy picture, but it shows the two of us in the suits.

If our kids move up to Kanakakee( spelling ) Ill this Summer we will be there? That s there plan we will be in our RV if thats not a problem ? Jim
