Attempting to slough off some of the winter doldrums, we took a little car tour downriver and found ourselves eating lunch at the Candlelight Restaurant in the Clinton Marina. We were very impressed. If the service and management for the marina is as good as their restaurant, we will have an excellent time at the gathering. It is a very nice facility. Tex/Sharon and Ken/Pat......you guys picked a winner. We're looking forward to another great C-Brat Mississippi gathering.

Your assessment of the Clinton Marina is correct. We have been working with the marina management and the city of Clinton director and the cooperation has been great. They knew of the C-Brat gatherings and have thrown out the welcome mat. The same goes for the local museums and attractions in the area. What great Midwestern hospitality.
Can't wait to see everyone again.

Thank you Tex for getting the ball rolling on the next gathering.

Thank you Tyboo for posting the event and sign-up sheet.

As noted , the gathering will be at the Clinton Marina in Clinton, Iowa. Mile 519.0 RDB, N41 50.908, W 90 10.857

Clinton Marina is $30.00 per day and has fuel, 30/50 amp electrical, gas, ice, pump-out, restrooms, showers, laundry, restaurant, marine supplies, snacks & refreshments.

For reservations call (563) 242-3600. Please get your reservations early and be sure to identify yourself as a C-Brat so we can all be together on the docks.

There is a boat launch right near the marina. You can launch your boat and then park your vehicle and trailer across the street and lock it up. Please do not park in the marina lot right next to the boat launch. If you want to drop your trailer in the parking area, you can drive closer to the marina but do not park in the restraint parking lot.

Thursday, Sep. 7th: For those that would like to take a boat trip, we are planning a trip to the John Deere display facility in Rock Island, Il. (MM 485.5 LBD) You will see the latest in high tech farming equipment. A total of 68 miles and 1 lock to go thru. A very interesting trip.

Friday, Sep. 8th: Coffee and pastries at the marina at 8am for the C-Brats. At 10am, for those who want to taste some of the local Midwest history, we have arranged a tour of the area that includes The Sawmill Museum, lunch at a local restaurant, a tour of the windmill and associated museum (a real working windmill) and a walk thru Heritage Canyon (a recreation of 1800,s Midwest living). The sawmill has a charge of $4.00 per person and the windmill and Heritage Canyon are free but donations are appreciated.
At 6pm we will have a bbq at the marina for the C-Brats. IMPORTANT NOTE The marina Restaurant/bar will be offering $1.99 margaritas from 11am to 7pm.

Saturday Sep.9: 8am coffee and pastries for the C-Brats at the marina. We will spend the day visiting with old and new C-Brat friends and view the C-Dories. At 6pm we will have a bbq for the C-Brats at the marina. The docs we will be using are not covered but we have secured permission to use the area under the restaurant for our activities.

We will have some entertainment again this year. Not Samuel Clemens or Elvis, no rescue needed.

Looking forward to seeing all of you C-Brats this year.

Great planning guys! Sounds like you got the makings for another really fun gathering. And entertainment again too? We still get a chuckle thinking how "Elvis has left the dock..." was almost "....and is now in the Mississippi River".

Count us in. We can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Hello from Lummi Island Washington. Finally managed to log on to this site. We are down sizing from our beloved Transpac Eagle 32 trawler to hopefully a C Dory 25. Any one with info on a 25 not listed on this site please let me know. Will be glad to be aboard the C Dory fleet when we find the right boat. Regards Larry from Synergyp36@msn.com

Thisaway, is planning to be there. We hope to take a couple of weeks cruising the Tennessee River, probably launching at Pickwick; if any are interested, please let us know and join us. Maybe we can ever stir up Byrdman, and hit his compound on the way!

C-Otter also planning on another GREAT gathering on the Mississippi! Dr. Bob if you are planning on the Tennessee after the gathering count us in! Always up to a new adventure......Tom

Rosanne and I are thinking about launching in Dubuque and then cruising down from there, and back after the gathering, if anyone else is considering coming down the Mississippi from the North. Colby

There is a chance we might make this one. Uncle Einar in Decorah is turning 102, and the family is planning a celebration. I'm signing us up, but we are a maybe. Tex could make some ice cream and cobbler as added incentive.

We were planning on Lake Powell, but maybe we can do both.

We'll trailer Cat O'Mine up there; believe it or not it's 200 miles less than going to Key West! See ya'll there!
Bob and Tom, the Tenn river also sounds like a hoot!
Hope to be familiar with my radar by then.
John

Looks like we will miss both Lake Powell and the Mississippi gatherings. Dang!

For anyone interested in camping during the gathering, there is a campground directly across the street from the marina: Riverview R/V Park - Clinton Marina. 9th Avenue North and Riverview Drive, Clinton, Iowa. Hello all,

I am hoping to make it up the Mississippi for my first Cbrat gathering. Still working on logistical stuff and schedules.

I have owned my c Dory since Feb '16 and am looking forward to meeting other owners etc.

You are most welcome to the C-Brat Gathering in Clinton, Iowa. You will meet some of the nicest people to ever set foot on a boat. Their knowledge and experiences are second to none. I have personally stolen dozens of ideas from them and my boat is much the better for it. No apologies. Of course, over the years the boats have become secondary to the friendships we have made with other C-Brats.

Sincerely hope to see you in Clinton, Iowa.

Does Thisaway have a tentative date for launching on the Tennessee?

Probably be 2 to 3 days after the Mississippi gathering. We would leave on Monday AM. I'll probably spend one night on my farm in Central Illinois-not a long drive from there. Where we launch would be the determining factor.

Be great to have you join us.
