Thanks. I'll have to go back and see if I can find some of those earlier postings. I do look forward to coming down, but unfortunately looks like my wife's schedule is having me come solo. I'll give Diane a call later about parking, but is it basically just in the launch parking lot, or are they having us park on their property somewhere? Colby

Hello Colby,

No use giving directions here since you are not aquatinted with the marina grounds.

Believe me, everything is arranged and planned, has been from the beginning, as said before in my posting "to you", see posting Posted: Wed Aug 29, 2012 1:24 pm.

See below;

"Any questions of where to launch, park tow vehicles, park your boat, WIFI access codes, reserve Thursday and Friday night cruises or about anything else, co-ordinate with Diane Averkamp: 563-557-9700

Diane’s office is inside Catfish Charlie's Restaurant (in the front doors, to your left)."

You can call me at 641-751-0977 and I will answer any questions that I can.

Best regards,

Ron, Connie, Bear & Dolly Fisher

Oh by the way,

Catfish Charlie's Restaurant will furnish "ice" free to the C-Brats.

Ask Charlie or Diane, who will be glad to help you.

Hello From Iowa,

I just received a call from Jerry Swanson from the Quad Cities who will be coming up to see us on Thursday and maybe Saturday.

The reason I’m commenting, is that I/we want to encourage interested parties to make themselves known as they arrive, so we as a group can make sure there questions, that we can answer, are answered.

Best regards,

Ron, Connie, Bear & Dolly Fisher

Hello from Iowa,

Here is another “When Pigs Fly” moment.

Can we as a group share photographs, produce and publish a National Mississippi River C-Brat calendar for 2013?

This is a project that we can work on (as a group), during and after the 2012 National Mississippi River C-Brat Gathering.

Please take “lots” of pictures and post them in the group album at; http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _album.php

Or send your favourite photos to me after the gathering.

The rule is that every picture “must have one or more Mississippi River C-Brat C-Dory’s in the picture”, plus details about the picture.

OBTW, this would be a totally non profit/break even “only” venture.

I’ll check out the costs (printing, packaging and postage) and advise the break even point as we go along.

The only obligation that any individual in the group has to do is furnish great photographs, I’ll take care of the rest.

Let me know at the gathering, if this is something that we as a group would like to see happen.

Best regards,

Ron, Connie, Bear & Dolly Fisher

Jan and Lee Murray will be departing (with truck, trailer and Tully B) from Michigan late this afternoon. We expect to overnight some where along the way and will see you all around mid morning tomorrow.

Hello from the National Mississippi River C-Brat Gathering,

By Wednesday afternoon seven CD’s have already shown up with more showing up on Thursday and Friday.

So far we know of three more boats that are attending that did not sign up (which is quite acceptable by the way), looks like we could have a total of 22/24 CD’s coming to this National Mississippi River C-Brat Gathering, we will see, stay tuned.

The cruise down river for lunch in Bellevue Iowa was originally scheduled for Thursday morning after breakfast,

With boats showing up at different times, the group decided at lunch today to have a cruise on both Thursday and Friday.

Best regards,

Ron, Connie, Bear & Dolly Fisher

I'm hoping to trailer in sometime before noon on Friday. Perhaps I can get an earlier start and catch up on the River either on your way out or back. Colby

Colby,

As you suspected the water is low and one has to pay attention to not get stuck.

On the ramp that we are using (immediately east of the ice arena), when facing the ramp tend to use the right side, head out between the two white buoys and proceed to the main channel before heading back toward the yacht basin.

Stay to the south side of the channel (you will see a barge being unloaded) hug that side of the channel.

Everyone did make it in just fine, Yes I did get stuck and will share the details.

See you there.

Best regards,

Ron, Connie, Bear & Dolly Fisher

We are scheduled to leave the house around 10:00am today (Thursday). Should be arriving around 2:00pm. We can hardly wait to reunite with old friends and meet new ones.

No details needed, but maybe a photo for the album? ;-) Thanks for that update. Been a while since I used that ramp, but if I remember, the water tends to shoal on that north side of the ramp. I'm a night owl at home, but if I can get going early enough, I should arrive around 10ish tomorrow. Even spent a good part of yesterday waxing the Midnight Flyer up to make her spiffy for the gathering. ;-) Colby

I had a great time. Thanks! Hope to make next years. I have already uploaded some photos to the album. (Now I just need to figure out the fastest way to find that album, besides going back thru the earlier msgs to link to it...) An interesting thing on my travel back home. I took the Cassville Ferry, which in itself is fun also. I was surrounded by bikers! (Great day for a bike...motorcycle...ride as well.) Just after the Mrs. Captain pulled us back from the Turkey Landing ramp, we all noticed the tug come unattached from our barge. Yeah, that got some concerned comments. Closer look showed that the barge is actually attached to the tow by a solid pin set in the middle. Allows the tug to just turn on the barge, while keeping the barge going in the same direction. (The Mrs. part of the captain got some interesting comments too.... still an odity for some guys. ;-)

Thanks for the link. Just uploaded some more photos. And regarding my comment about the tug pin, I tried to upload that photo into this message box, but couldn't....however I did upload that photo to the link above. Thanks again. Colby

Wow1 What a great gathering. It was super seeing old friends and meeting the new and future C Brats. Ron and Connie outdid theirselves. Everything from accommadations, to Catfish Charlie's food, to the trips on the Mississippi were tremendous. Janda will write more on the See-Saw thread about the Gathering. It was a fantastic ending to the See-Saw 2012 journey. Lyle

Ron & Connie,
Thanks for putting together another great C-Brat gathering. The captain & crew (you decide who's who) aboard the Joni Lynn had a fantastic time, and it was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We appreciate all you did to make this another successful gathering. See you all next year !
