We've had very good success with these motors. As pointed out, the problem of ethanol on carburaters is ever present.
We have seen some of these develop a heavy salt build up where the lower unit bolts to the mid section, to the point of the packed in salt expanding to the point of cracking the metal of the mid section. Regular service of the impellor and remoavla of the lower unit will prevent this.
All of the late model (three star) outboards tend to be cold blooded when first started. Let them warm up a bit and they'll run fine.
