07/24 - 07/26 - Bellingham, WA CBGT

Sorry we'll miss you guys Peter. And you're right about the weather. Pat makes a good point, altough you probably considered it and can't make it work. But your dad would sure be proud of you for having so many good friends!

Any good places to drop crab pots up thar? I now have two and we're planning on heading out first thing Friday morning.

I also have to install the new water pump that UPS just delivered, make a grocery run Thursday...

Getting close. The wife is excited... 8)

Where's the emoticon showing me slapping my forehead?

Long story short. My Dad (and Mom) lived here from 1970 - 1989 and made tons of really good, close, lifelong friends. This is my Dad's first trip up here since Mom died in April and his social calendar is filling up. I didn't think about asking whether or not he wanted to come up to Bellingham with us (hence: forehead slap).

In any case, thanks for the suggestions. I might have to see what he has planned. Either that or I (we) take a quick Saturday trip. We'll see.

Peter

Pat's our designated Mr. Fixit. He's helped me reattach after several discombobulations, be they a non-starting motor, a cranky GPS, an attitude problem or an empty mug. Our Beer Guys rock.

Tyboo, we're thinking about you, and hope you and your crew are having great big fun.

Oh yeah, Brock. The kids are having too much fun. Bring the sunburn soother. I tried to tell 'em.

Still the only boat here. Unbelievable even for Tuesday. The generator is driving the microwave because the girls invented some baked-spud-mashed-up-in-a-baggie-with-a-bunch-of-other-junk meal they're gonna make.

 Perfect ending to a perfect day, I assume.

Yep it's pretty close to perfect. The spud in a bag was excellent. Good enough to have again real soon.

Friday Harbor tomorrow. The girls gotta do their shopping thing.

Nice night here.

Beautiful evening, kids, spuds in a bag, C-dory, What's not to like!
Perfect. Enjoy Tyboo :moon

Congrats on the 1 1/2 years SF!!!!!

Robbi

Kids in a bag, spuds, what could be better! Only thing you need to make it perfect is a stupid black and white lhasa - and we happen to have one available!

We made it to Bellingham! It is late and we are going to sleep on the boat in the lot by the launch ramp. Tomorrow we can take care of details like gas and food.

Another interesting day of travel - only had to buy one new trailer tire. That is the third out of five of the Goodyear marathon tires that has separated. Luckily we caught this one early thanks to a friendly trucker.

First time ever there was only one boat nivernight at Doe Island in July. Kinda hurts my feelings. Two boats looked but didn't come in and another tied up to walk on island and then left.

Foggy foggy this morn. Might wait a bit before heading to Friday H. and testing out the radar. Cooled down a little too. It's 54 out there. I even cranked up the stove so I can still wear summer stuff. Jamie is debating within herself whether to stay snuggled on the dinette bed or put the table up so we can cook breakfast.

Thanks Pat but we already got one of them stupid Lhasa's. She's three-tone now though. Black and white and dirt.

Sorry for the late sign-up.

We will plan on towing from Quilcene up to Bellingham on Thursday. However, due to other commitments, we will perhaps be arriving late evening ala SeaSpray (but hopefully not as late!).

Anybody know how late one can find somebody in the marina office? I will call the marina if nobody knows.

SeaSpray.... if you guys are online, any late night arrival tips? Is there a place that we can park the truck/trailer/boat near the marina entrance if it is indeed all locked up when we arrive?

Tanks,
Dan & Tanya

so i was just informed at work that this weekend will be the African Fireworks display in Vancouver. they do a number of these trade shows for fireworks for all to view and purchase for thier respective cites. i have to say being raised the dreaded californian, and happily displaced , where fireworks were more illegal than weed/pot .....it is a shock how much fireworks there are. it is exciting!!!

so we should be able to see them from bellingham. ( I think.......) We were in bellingham harbor a year two two ago with tom parents on the 4th and saw the fireworks from ??? the arch?/ blaine?? let me know if you think i am way off base.

Hi Dan and Tanya,

Bellingham is easy. There is a big parking lot at the ramp. Pay for your launch by machine and then self-register for the dock space with the envelopes provided. No need to go to the marina office.

Hope that helps.

And for Joe and Ruth - sorry we won't make this event, but know that we're thinking of you. Tell everyone at the gathering that the Wild Blue Crew says "Hi, and we'll see you next year." Have a great gathering!

Best wishes,
Jim
