On my walk this AM I say a beautiful Arctic Fox on a Ford F-250. It sure looks good and well built, but a little top heavy going around a corner. Drive careful Warren.

I won't be at the La Conner gathering but I'll be passing through at around 2AM on that Friday evening. Next weekend is the weekend of the Ragnar Relay a foot race that starts in Blaine, proceeds through Chuckanut bay, Ferndale, Bellingham, Samamish Bay, Mt. Vernon, Langley, Anacortes, across Deception Pass down the west side of Whidbey Island and then across to Langley. The total length of this year's course is 198.2 miles. The race will start on Friday AM and end on Saturday afternoon. Those driving in the area should take care to look out for runners (and crazy people in support vehicles).

I've run this race 3 years in a row on a 12 person team. This year we'll be doing it as a 6 person team. Each runner on our team will run 3 legs totaling about 33 miles/person. My team should go past the factory in Ferndale (actually just south of the factory on Smith road) around 3:20PM on Friday. I project we'll run nearest to the marina (on Morris street a few blocks S of the marina) around 2-3 AM on Sat. morning. We'll cross over the bridge 1/2mile south of the marina shortly thereafter. We'll be quiet :wink: . We'll cross over the Deception pass bridge sometime between 5 and 6AM on Sat. AM. and we'll be in Langley around 4 in the afternoon. I hope you all have a great time, I know I will. If I'm not completely wiped out on Sunday, I may hop in the truck and drive up to Langley for breakfast.
 
Count me in as a tentative for Sunday AM. It's impossible to predict how I'll feel right now but if at all possible, I'll drive up there on Sunday AM.
 
Not as of yet, but I could make that happen if enough people are interested in doing it together. Other wise there are a bunch of resturants in town. All a short walk from the dock. I had dinner last night at the seafood and prime rib house on main. Has gotten a lot better then a few years ago. Ask for the english waitress shes a blast.
 
Apparently, Name Tags are part of my DNA, :disgust as I have a bunch made up for new folks at LaConner. Currently, I have color coded, suitable for framing tags for:

THe naming of the 27 is coming down to one of us just giving in. I like the idea of "big susan" because the boat is bigger and susan thinks its cute but I just get a bad feeling when I say it and others just give me a look like " glad hes not my husband"

Then there is the Susan e square, which I have name tags for. and we both like it but we dont love it.

susan does not like susan e 2 and neither do I really.

I like " susan E" and there is no current susan e so that will work but some say "well that was your last boat"

So for now or until we come up with a really neat name we both like its just the "27" . you cant rush these things.

We must have taken a different grammar class. The latter rule only applies if we're talking about plural Susans and to my knowledge (and I'm sure to Susan's knowledge), Tom only has one Susan. :wink:

In my grammar class, "Susan's 27" could be the possessive or a contraction (the 27 belongs to Susan or Susan is 27).

I've known folks to name an entire series of boats the same name, so Susan E doesn't have to have a "2" or a "II". No way in Hell would I name anything BIG ____ and tell people I named it after my wife.

Go for a while - the boat will tell you what it wants to be named. Susan E is a name that we all know here, if you decide that fits.
