06/18 - 06/19 - Port Townsend Safety Launch

We will be coming on Friday night. I may not have a anchor in time. its raining again and I can work on the boat right now. So no installing the windlass and modifying the anchor well. Will it be OK to tie to some one on anchor?

Tom

I am not clear on where the preferred anchorage will be in Mystery Bay. I am expecting it will be either at the State Park at the bar, or in Nordland harbor. In either case, there are Park moorings. Unless we decide to be somewhere else... We'll want to see wind direction probably. I'm happy to have someone else decide this.

I look forward to seeing this new boat of yours.

Dave

sounds good.

we will be able to sit three or four people besides our selves during the races. I dont know how many race officals we need to haul around but I would be open to other c-brats riding with us if they dont want to bring their own boats.

My sister and I will be camping at Fort Worden State Park on Fri and Sat nights. I will be crewing onboard Dreamer. Roger, I will PM my cell phone # to help our pre race communications. You can call me Fri night or Sat am and let me know where to meet you.

Does anyone know how long our boats will be on the water for the races?

I am interested in driving there, camping, and crewing on someone's boat, depending on the time involved. I can leave Gus in my 4 Runner for 4+ hours.

Thanks,

Anne Cox

Time. The fastest craft will go 7 mph, and the course on Sunday is 13 miles. I expect total time will be about three hours, more or less (including a little time on water prior to race). The Saturday race is probably about two hours.

Saturday the races start at 10:00, from Ft. Worden, near the Marine Science Center. Sunday the race starts in two groups, 8:45 and 9:15.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this weekends event. I have really been looking forward to this all spring, but life throws us some curves from time to time. Roger and Janet, I hope that you can find a replacement crew member. Dave, sorry to let you down after all of the work that you have done to put this together.

I hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend, and that all of the rowers stay upright.

Hi, we are Chris and Randy Shuman and we have a new to us 1984 22' that is not either a fisherman or cruiser, it is between.

We are planning to be at Mystery Bay Friday night and help with the regatta on the weekend. We are looking forward to meeting some other C-Dory owners, the only one that we know now is David McKibben, who has a 16' and a 25' he is a neighbor to our cabin on Guemes Island.

See you all then.

Chris

Can we have something definite on Mystery Bay. Is it the desire to be near the spit, or in Nordland Harbor? There are moorings and dock in both places. Either is fine with me. The harbor is much better protected from wind.

Preference?

There are TWO state parks - one on spit and one in the Nordland harbor. Both have docks and moorings. The spit is closer to PT, but has more wind and current.

Perhaps we could start with the spit and evaluate.

Dave

Donna and I won't be able to make the event, but we were thinking of driving out in the car on Saturday evening and join you guys for a bit and shoot the breeze. Are you planning on hanging out on the dock? Did you ever decide on dinner plans? Maybe we could do that.

Welcome, Chris you'll have fun around here.

Rick

The park by the spit is Ft. Flagler State Park. In the photo, the dock looks pretty small and it is, indeed, pretty exposed. We have used Mystery Bay State Park and prefer it. More dock space and protection.

Let's just go with that. Nordland Harbor.

I may not get over till 7:00 or so.

It might be good if we had at least a brief meeting about the Saturday race.

Dave

Looking forward to seeing you all at the Mystery Bay State Park dock Friday night. For those who have not been there, the entrance is w a y over there, close to the Navy pier, then follow the channel markers through the long "S" curves.
