06/06 - 06/08 - Annual Chesapeake Bay Gathering

All good suggestions from Alma's Only....even those of us who live here, and don't own the books, would agree..nice plan, good routes...too many choices...heck, i've barely explored my own local rivers in all these years..

Wow thanks for the invite Dave & Dayna.. We will check out the books you talked about. We are seriously talking abouy taking you up on that offer to pre gather cruise.. lol Larry wants to know more about the route you have planned? We will order the books for sure. If you could give Larry more information that would be great ! He still remembers all the help you gave him with the GPS at the NC gathering. Talk to you soon ! 8)

PLease let me know , or let Anne Baxter know, if you are planning to arrive early to the gathering. We might be able to use some people on Friday at the launch ramp site (about a mile from Lankford Marina), and at my house (parking area of some rigs...already reserved). There are always last minute things to do, and the "organizers" ..Doug, Anne, me, Charlie.,Steve...get a bit stretched. Liz and John usually are tied up at the college that day.

We will be at Langford by mid-afternoon on Friday and would be glad to help. After we drop off the boat and trailer we can work the ramp or drive C-brats to Rock Hall etc. Let us know.

T-shirt colors are medium gray this year, with dark blue printing (not pink!) Tank tops are an option for any who want them.

We'll put in the order shortly, using Charlie's numbers (Ann & Doug, I added yours, as well as the two for Dragonfly). If anyone wants to add to the order, please let me know soon. Once the order is in, I can't guarantee that we can add to it.

HERE is the current attendance list with full info where I have it.

If you have not made your reservations at the marina, please do so now. If you don't see your name on this list, please post here or e-mail me so I can get you on it. I will have hard copies at the gathering so if you don't have EXCEL, you can have a copy anyway.

We only have about three weeks to go!
Please contact Charlie, if you haven't already done so, to be included on his famous spreadsheet.
Get your orders into this site for T-Shirts and tank tops for the girls. We have three (one for each Chesapeake Gathering) and looking forward to our fourth!
Remember, if you arrive by boat and need to get into town, there are several of us with cars to drive you.
We have a short "Poker Run (more like cruise)" planned for Saturday morning for those who want to play. We will discuss Friday night at the PotLuck to see if still interest with gas prices so high. There is also a cruise to St. Michaels on Sunday. You won't want to miss that if you are staying a few days after the gathering.
Looking forward to seeing everyone. Will have agenda of weekend and name tags when you arrive. I always look forward to greeting everyone.

Anne

Here is the food arrangement for the gathering...just a reminder.

Friday night: pot luck...bring something to feed a few others...(this is usually a great feast...and remember, if you have need you can run in to Rock Hall to our great local grocery for what you need). We will have soda, water, and some beer, but libations are generally your responsibility.

Saturday night: Dinner on us. So far....hamburgers on the grill, the famous "local" Downey's chicken..fried so that it is totally un-healthy but so delicious, and a famous Eastern Shore recipe...and Terry's traditional Upper Tier of New York "Red Hots" and "White Hots" (Terry also brings his wonderful New York wines...!!)...sausage/frankfurter delicacies...on the grilll..plus.....CRAB BALLS... and salads and all the leftovers from Friday...

The tempo is picking up...the kazoos are ready, the Chesapeake is just warming up, and the C Dory invasion is immenent!!!

Wow, we're up to 28 boats of all different kinds and sizes.

Boats Number
TC255 1
25 Cruiser 6
22 Cruiser 14
16 Cruiser 1
16 Angler 1* owner coming on the Monk 36

Rosborough 246 1
Ranger 25 1
Ranger 21EC 1
Monk 36 1

This is gonna be like the Annapolis Boat Show on the Eastern Shore.

Unfortunately, I'm behind on my installs on the Cat, just hope now to get the underwater stuff done so I can put the boat back in the drink, won't get the AC done or the electronics on it. We're moving into the new house and with work every day and all, there just isn't time. We'll see how the long weekend goes, hopefully carve out some time there.

I'm gonna post the current version of the spreadsheet in the Documents Forum for anyone that wants to see/download it. Will have plenty of hard copies there for folks at the Gathering.

Charlie

Well, just had a surprise. A PM from John Middleton at Sail Annapolis, the new dealer for C-Dory in Annapolis! He's sending over a brand new TC255 with an employee and family to join us on Saturday and Sunday. The boat is blue, has twin Honda 135's on it and is, as yet, not outfitted with electronics. Bring your specs and money and I'm sure it could be yours quite quickly!

Now I gotta shine up the Captain's Cat!

Welcome, Jeff, Marcie and kids Rory and Riley!

I understand Jeff is the resident techie on installs and codes, etc and would probably be willing to assist with questions!
