06/06 - 06/08 - Annual Chesapeake Bay Gathering

Roger, thanks for the input. I'll pass it along to the ones handling the shirt...i tend to agree...I really like the shirt..it is one of my "good" ones.

I think we are at 23 signups for the June gathering.
Yesterday i was walking down by the marina...boats still wrapped up, pretty empty. I sat for a while and watched two ospreys construct their nest on top of a telephone pole. Spring is here.

My field is now full. I can't host any more rigs for parking for the June 6-8 gathering. However, if you plan to cruise after the gathering, some of the rigs will be departing, and you can park on my field while away...long as you wish.

The field parking is reserved now for

The Fran Sea
Anne-B
Valkyrie
Aloysius
Odd-A-C
Sea Esta

If any of you no longer think you need it, please let us know. No others have requested so far but you never know.

If you haven't made Marina Reservations, please do so very soon. They're getting full.

And, if you haven't signed up at all yet, please do so as soon as possible. We're up to 25 with two months yet to go!

I have ordered the kazoos. I have ordered a higher quality than last year based on the fact that you have now had a year of practice (you have practiced, right?)

Practice for The C Brat Strutters Symphonic Marching Kazoo Band (CBSSMKB) will take place Saturday afternoon, after cocktails.

Be there or be square!

(I mean, do we have fun or not?)

Tom, we'd better march before cocktails, in case some are not mobile like last year :cocktail :cocktail :cry

We've got 25 Brats signed up. Now arriving on CDs from 16's to TC255's, a Rosborough 246 and a Monk 36 Trawler! What a variety!

9 weeks to go folks, the marina is filling up fast, sign up today!

Yep...Spring is here!! Really looking forward to this trip!! Looking like with current events...I should be heading NE around 4Jun...ish. Staying thru the post gathering travel...thru the 12th....ish....depending on the water trip.

17-20 Apr: Raleigh, NC - Around the West Marine store area

21-25 Apr: Charleston Harbor Marina & Resort: Great Loop Cruisers Association gig...

2-4May: Nashville TN River Travel/Gathering

4-12Jun: Lanford Bay....even if they have no crabs...may be able to transport some BBQ...but time will tell.

Still getting signups. The latest ones are those that own a 16 but are coming on their Monk 36 Trawler and will likely anchor out. Their friends are coming on a Cape Dory 28 Trawler and may get a slip. This is turning into a great gathering and a lot of different boats!

Sally and I are presently in Hartford CT on the way up to our house in Downeast Maine to pack it up and move out. It's rented for the summer and for sale. We'll be back in VA on or about the 15th of May and I've got a lot of work on Captain's Cat to finish for the trip!

Sign up if you haven't and for sure make a Marina Reservation if you haven't, they're filling up fast!

Charlie

Finally got to Maine and our home here! HughesNet bombed out on their install so I have 26K dialup until they come on Sunday....forgot what slow speed was like.

Interesting though, now a former C-Brat that used to have <grin> and was there for a couple of years now has a Camano 31 Trawl. So we'll have a really wide variety of boats, some of them not C-Dories either!

Sign up soon, and for sure get your Marina Reservation, they're going fast...

Beautiful here in Maine.... 58 and sunny today, 25 mile view out over the ocean!

Sorry to say that due to unexpected scheduled eye surgery, we will not be attending the gathering. Will try again next year.

I called Lankford Bay Marina and reserved a boat slip for the Cruise, this morning. We can't wait to meet new C-Brats & see others we have not saw in a while.
Jim

Glad to see some friends from North Carolina coming up for the Gathering. I am sure you will like Lankford Marina and enjoy the Chesapeake Bay.
The days are going by so fast. Before you know it June will be here.
There are so many new things happening this year. Can't wait to greet everyone again and meet new friends. Don't miss out this year. Remember Friday night is the pot luck supper and Saturday night will be main event along with a lot in between.
If you haven't signed up yet, do so right away and make your reservations at Lankford soon also.
Remember, a C-Dory Gathering is an opportunity to greet fellow C-Dory owners and swap ideas and also a place where wannabees on the fence can get a feel for what the fuss is all about! Of course there is the FOOD!!!!!

More later.

Count us "in" for the gathering again this year. Always a great time.

Look for the Minnow, it'll be the one with the "For Sale" sign on it.

Minnow,
We'll look forward to seeing you.
Yesterday, returning from Hungary, Peggy and I drove by the Essington Marina, to right of 95 and spotted a C Dory in a slip. Is that you?
If so, my brother, Jim, once kept a boat at that spot. He lived in the Essington area all of his adult life.

Hi Tom. No, that's not me. I'm on the Crosswicks Creek in Bordentown, but if you're heading North on I-295 and look to the right from the bridge, you can see me.

Hello all,
Well, June 6 is coming up fast. PLEASE if you have not made your reservaetions at Lankford Bay Marina, do it now. John A. is the one to ask for. We have 29 listed on this site, but he does not have that many with reserved slips. Once his slips are filled, then the options are mooring out or rafting up.

We talked about a short cruise after the gathering. We will want to meet and talk about that sometime on Friday evening or Saturday sometime. With fuel prices where they are, we may want to do some short distance cruising!

Another note: It is possible i will be "between boats" for the event. I have sold my 22 and am in the "sorting out" time now about a boat.

I look forward to the gathering, seeing old friends, having fun, great conversations, humor...what we all need in this difficult time.

tom (terraplane)

Well, we are about a month from the Chesapeake Gathering. By last count we have 29 boats. If you haven't signed up yet, please go to Event Signups and sign up! If you haven't made slip reservations at Lankford, call asap.
More soon about T-Shirts.
Charlie will be keeping the spreadsheet again this year. Let him know the info to add.
We are planning an exciting weekend with some surprizes! Great time to meet old friends and make new ones.
Don't forget Friday night is the pot luck (bring something to share) and Saturday night is our party. Lots of fun in between!

See you soon!

Doug & Anne

Doug and Anne, I'll get you the current t-shirt count later today or tomorrow. Am still in Maine, head back this weekend. We've had a few cancellations but I still think we'll be about 30 boats. Lots of diversity this year.
