Looks like we are having a planning meeting in Rock Hall, MD next weekend. <stuff clipped>

Planning meeting??? What's that? None of us hippies, loggers, fishermen etc, out here on the west coast could possibly be that structured. Must be an east coast thing. Unless of course, it's another excuse to drink with your C-brat buddies, because THAT we can relate to. :cocktail :beer

Looks like Kathy and I will be able to make this year.
We have a CD-16 and would like to see other boats and have a party.
Since the @C resides in Delaware and we live in Annapolis off the Severn River, we'd like to bring the Trophy across the bay and attend the gathering.
Is this allowed???
Yeah, its a Bayliner, but its been good to us AND we can make it across the Bay. Even if the wx is not good, we'll drive over.
Since we can't sleep aboard, what are the local accommodations?

Sign us up and look forward to meeting all.
Bill

Sure Bill, c'mon! You don't even have to own a C-Dory but that helps!

There are several B&Bs there that we have stayed at before we got the TC255, the CD 22 was just too uncomfortable for the both of us when it got hot (it has gotten up close to 100 in early June). I'm sure you could get a ride to/from there and there's a trolly that runs regularly. We stayed at "Tallulah's on Main" in Rock Hall. We've had lots of different boats attend, all that's required is that you love boating and are interested in C-Dorys!

Look forward to meeting you, if you haven't signed up at the top of the home page, please do so. I'll be collecting some info from all the attendees in a month or so to do my usual attendance listing and nametags..

Hey Roger, you Left Coasties don't have a kazoo marching band either... :note :note :disgust

That kind of thing takes planning, and intestinal fortitude!

Click on "Event Signups" at the top of home page, add your name to the list. more info will follow in the next few weeks.

Doug.

Well it won't be long. Just two months from today and we will be meeting again on the Chester River.
Please call Lankford Bay Marina and make reservations for a slip for the weekend. Talk to John A. He will take care of everything.

Lankford Bay Marina
23002 McKinleyville Road
Rock Hall, MD 21661
410-778-1414

If you haven't signed up yet, go to the Events Signups and put your name in.

Tom has met with the T-shirt man and we will again have T-shirts to sell.

Remember Friday, June 5th Pot Luck Supper 'Meet and Greet' (you bring a dish to share - we provide the soda, water to drink) Saturday, June 6th is the main meal. We will again have barbeque fare, chicken, hot dogs, salad and maybe some local crab cakes. Sunday morning, June 7th we will have a 'Sendoff Breakfast' - new this year.

If you are new to group this year, we have people that can help you launch your boat or if you come by boat, help you tie up at the dock.

Capt. Charlie will be keeping in touch and he will set up his spreadsheet again. He keeps track of number of boats and people attending. Does a fine job too!

You can come early or stay later than the gathering to cruise the area. We will have info on the local favorite spots to cruise at the gathering also. Post your plans and maybe you can meet up with others to cruise the Bay.

Keep watching the site for more info.

Called and reserved my spot today at the marina. Very easy. The website makes the marina look really nice. Can't wait and the fiddle and mandolin will be packed. For pot luck, do people like chili? I have family chili powder from Trinidad CO that is family grown and roasted.

Fiddle On!!!!!!

Glad you are excited about coming. Yes, it is a very nice marina. That is why we keep coming back.

Chili sounds great. We usually get a little bit of everything. That is what makes it so much fun. Some people bring from home and some people wait til they get there and go into town.

Time to bring this one to the top again. About 6 weeks left, we've only got 17 boats so far.... C'Mon folks, sign up. Several coming from Norfolk, maybe you folks could come up in a group? If you want to overnight along the way, we're only 15 minutes from Smith Point/Point Lookout at the mouth of the Potomac and would be glad to host you at our dock, water/power available and we can bring in gas to fill you up. We will probably be leaving to head North either on Thursday morning or on Friday morning. It's about a 6 hour run at 16-17 knots from here, we've done it several times.

I will be asking new attendees for info for the comprehensive signup list I do soon and posting instructions on how to get to Langford by land. You'll need to call them and make reservations for a slip too.

Charlie

We have a 22-ft C-Dory in Shady Side, MD, and would like to join the gathering on the weekend of June 5-7 at Lankford Bay Marina. We attended one of the events a couple of years ago and it was great fun. There was also some great music. We'll go ahead and make reservations with the marina. Look forward to seeing everyone! Linn and Jim

I seem to have 2 locations on my gps map for the marina. Is it on Davis Creek or Grays Inn Creek? What are the coordinates? I suspect Davis.
Thanks,
Bill
See you in June.

Hello,

Pat and I are back from Florida and we do plan to get to the gathering for the Saturday evening party. I will have my spoons all shined up-just love to play with Tom.

We did have some time with Last Dance Terry in Florida. We stayed at the Glades Camp Ground where he spent the winter in his motor home. He was busy trying to catch all the fish around central Florida.

We are boatless, but look forward to seeing everyone.

Fred, Pat and Mr. Gray (the cat)

Fred & Pat,

Happy to see you are signed up. You know everyone is invited, boat or not. We are always glad to see you and Mr. Grey.
Spoons are in order, Fred. Make sure you are there early for the entertainment on Saturday night. Going to be a little different this year.

See you then.

We have 20 signed up so far. The weather is good this weekend. Time to get that C-Dory out of winter storage and start planning for the Chesapeake Gathering.
Great time to greet old friends and make new ones. Learn some new things and see what other C-Dory owners have done to their boats.

Make sure you call Lankford Bay Marina 410-778-1414 to make slip reservations. First come, first served.

Don't miss out. It is only 6 weeks away!!!! Come by land or water, but don't delay, sign up today.

Doug & Anne

Just made our marina reservations. Will start working on name tags as always. Doug/Anne, how many nametag holders do we have left from last year? I have plenty of inserts but may need to get more of the hangtag thingies. I'll probably overnight them to you or Tom just in case we get hung up by weather at the last minute.

Charlie

I ordered the T shirts today. They will be very nice...same maker as last year, guarantees a good fit. Charlie will soon be putting up the order routine. The shirts are a light color (cooler) and they will have both the C Dory and Ranger logo displayed.

Sign up now...for one of the great gatherings anywhere.

Tom (terraplane)

I have completed the new spreadsheet for 2009 at Langford Bay. It contains the names and info on all the boats/owners who have been there for any/all years 2005-2008. The spreadsheet will be in the Documents section shortly. The names highlighted in Yellow are the ones who have already signed up in the Events section above. I will update the sheet as new boats/owners sign up and put information in there.

I already have much of the info on your boat if you have been there in the past but would like you to verify what is there (hopefully, you have bought a new boat!).

I also need the information on arrival, T-Shirts, Parking, Number attending, etc. The list of what I need is as follows:

• Boat Name
• Boat Type, length and year
• Power? Make of engine(s) and HP
• Color (trim) of boat
• Homeport (City/State)
• User Name if on C-Brat Site
• Number of people going to attend (Adults/kids/dogs/cats)
• Attendees First Names (for Name Tags)
• T-Shirts? S, M, L, XL, XXL (probably around $10,
You can change your mind up until about a week ahead of time
• Do you need to use the ramp to launch?
• Do you need a place to park your rig? Parking in Tom’s field is
Very limited so get your druthers in to me early
• What day will you arrive?
• What day will you depart
• Are you interested in a cruise (even part of it) down the Bay
After or before the gathering? Have not set one up yet, just looking for expressions of interst at this point
• Do you have Marina Reservations yet?
• Any notes/comments you want by your line of info?

I know that’s a lot of info but I have most of it for those that have attended in the past except for current info for this year. Some of it I can get from your profile if it's entered there. Please PM or E-mail me the answers so we don’t take up too much space on the site!

Got some sites for you to check out. You can go to Marinas.com and look up Lankford Bay Marina, Rock Hall, Maryland for an aerial shot of the marina and road directions with a map. You can also check out marinas world wide. Also looks like Lankford is on You Tube. Nice advertisement to music.
If you are interested, try them out.
