Great time to pick up the boat...a good luck omen for anyone of Irish lineage...

I made reservations at Lankford, will arrive Friday afternoon and stay through Sunday night, need to launch as close to your place as possible, will park in your field if that's ok, have two adults, have a dingy and outboard, can't sing or dance, but will bring beer. Anything else you need from New England, please let me know. I'd bring lobsters, but frankly your crabs are better.

Good to hear from you. Directly across from our house we own a very large field..plenty of room for the rig.
The county launch ramp (there are a whole lot of them in our county) is less than a mile from my house, and considered a good ramp.
Fingers crossed that crabs are running. Beer and music...and crabs...
Right now we are in a near blizzard, so that June gathering is comforting t think about.

The county boat ramps require a trailer stamp $20. You may get info from Toys Outdoor Store in Rock Hall at 410 778 2561. The ramp that is near by is county, and is good at high or low tide. Toys store is on Rt 20 the only way into Rock Hall and the gathering. Tom McHugh may know of other ramps that are free.

I checked with my good friend, carter stanton, our county director of public works (they run the landings) and he says that we can get a three consecutive day permit for launching that is just $10. So if you plan to put in on Friday, has to come out on Sunday. If you stay longer, you can get six days for $20.
I'll check on the process and confirm this just to be sure.

We should pick up our new 22' C-Dory next week from Three Rivers Marine, Crystal River, FL. Our plan is to travel up the east coast (trailering) for a few weeks this summer, and planned on stopping in parts of the Chesapeake, as well as the Jersey Shore (our original home was Pt Pleasant, NJ). If possible, would like to make this gathering, but whats the proceedure????.......... OK, just read thru all the pages in the tread and got the details re the marina and the boat launch, but not sure about where to park the rig.

We plan to spend about a week in your area, but don't know exactly where we'll go after the gathering. We just may stay there if it's ok to leave our rig at your place, and cruise the lower bay with friends. In that case we'll have to buy two three day passes. No big deal. We'll just play it by ear as the date approaches. Thanks for checking.

I am enoying how complicated this gathering is becoming...reservations at the marina, travel plans, need to launch, storage of rigs..etc.
Ok, here we are, three months from our first ever Maryland, Eastern Shore, C. Dory Gathering, and unlike our "left coast" friends, we have never done this!! Help is welcomed.

Those of you who can do it, reserve at Lankford BAy Marina, (see earlier thread info) The marina is holding a lot of space, so if you can do it, reserve for Friday and Saturday.. I'm not sure how they deal with boats who are reserved, vs. boats coming in for a party, etc...get it?.
Some will anchor out. I'm talking to Jhn "A at Lankford. We will handle boats coming in for the party, dinner, etc. .This is a very informal place.
There will be a launch fee for boats, and i'll check on that. The public ramp is a mile from mile house. More in that later.
Our house is one mile from the launch ramp. Our field is approx 2..3 acres. We have a small barn on the field with electric. We can park at least five or six rigs on the field..and you can leave them for pickup later..no problem.

Greetings...
Just wanted Tom and the group to know it's official, we plunked down our deposit and our boat should be rigged and ready by early May (Cutter), so the June 3-5 weekend on the eastern shore looks like a winner. We're obviously excited, so here's the details... We're getting a CD25 with the Honda 150 HP + 15 HP Honda kicker on a bracket with a tiller control AND the 17" factory radar arch. Jen chose the cabernet stripe with some tweed dubonnet? interior. As far as I'm concerned, since I got the 150 HP + 15 kicker (thanks to my C-Brat friends on the west coast) and will get a Raymarine C80 system, it could have a periwinkle stripe with a pistachio interior, and I'd be happy as a clam (or geoduck) in mud! Actually, she's just about as jazzed over the hardware as I am, as long as we can find the fish, mount a downrigger or two, and find space for a few crab pots, we're both smiling... In fact, we both feel very, very fortunate and the end of April can't come soon enough!
Look forward to seeing everyone in June. Thanks to all on the list who help guide us early on with equipment choices, etc... Now the questions will really start coming! Have a great weekend.

Wow, looks like there will be a bunch of brand new boats for the Eastern Shore! Ironically, we ordered our CD25 back in January, at the Seattle Boat Show, direct from the C-Dory factory, and we won't be taking delivery until the end of May...kind of amazed at everybody placing recent orders with dealers and getting their boats months sooner...oh, well...Ours is/will be cabernet trim, Honda 135, no kicker (yet), mocha interior. Raymarine C-80 integrated radar/chartplotter/sounder, and the EQ-designed camperback. And getting the crab davit mounted is high on the priority list once we get this puppy! Look forward to meeting you (and giving your boat a look-see) on the Eastern Shore!

Tom my schedule is fairly flexible except I have to come from Calif. by way of Florida, so I will try to be there early to lend a hand or to provide ground transportation for those needing a shuttle service. Rich
Tom, If all goes as planned, my sister and I will arrive Thurs pm. I assume we can set up our tent in the the field. We can help out with anything that you need. I think that we will be driving from her place of work near Aberdeen, so we will come through Havre de Grace, Elkton and then south on 213 to Chestertown, then 20 to Rock Hall. As it gets closer, we will get directions from Rock Hall to your place.

Thanks to all who are volunteering to help. I think we could easily have 20 boats if the weather is good,... some launching, some here early, some coming later. So help is appreciated.
It helps me if you (1) register with Lankford Bay, for slips (2) let me know if you will need to launch and (3) if you have any special needs.

You have the directions right on the button. Later we can work out the final five miles to our house. From Aberdeen it shouldn't be more than an hour and a half?
Also, be sure to sign up on the event signup list. I use that as my master list.
Today it was 43F here and sunny...just a faint hint of spring.

El and Bill, Thank you so much for the welcome. It will be great to see you again after a too brief first visit in Seattle, and to meet a wonderful group of new friends from the East Coast. My sister and I are really looking forward to the gathering and to spending some time together.

You are welcome to a spot on the field...still plenty of room. The launch site is about a mile from my house, as is Lankford Bay Marina.
