The committee met yesterday . Good meeting.
Yes, we will have a t shirt for sale...$15. Get your order in to Charlie asap.
I will ask if it is possible to have some kid sizes available.
We decided the format for the weekend would be pretty much the same.
Arrival on Friday...
Cocktails and Pot Luck dinner about 5:30 on. For the Pot Luck dinner, please plan on putting something on the table ...it can be a main course, salad, hors d'ouevres (sp), dessert...(if the reader of this is the husband, please alert spouse...since last year we had some surprised wives who had no idea they were to provide something.)
Provide you own libation...we'll have ice, coolers.
Saturday ....side trips by boat to Chestertown, Rock Hall, Kent Narrows, or just exploration of ChesterRiver. Conversation and sharing boat knowledge all day. Visits to boats to see what others have done. Pool time, good talk. Possible mass picture of all the boats.
Dinner: We'll have crabs if they are running...We'll survey a little later to find out how many of you desire crabs. We'll have other stuff for the non-crab group.
Music: Terraplane will "preview " his Cherish The Waters cruise music...and we'll have a couple of other musicians there.
Sunday...wind up...those who will be leaving for several days of cruising will meet to discuss itinerary. It is likely that people will have different ideas...If you are "research minded" you might want to look at these ideas
l.Cruise of Choptank River...one of the longest rivers on the Bay..over 70 miles...deep...almost to the headwaters...50, 60 feet. Mostly uninhabited...beautiful.
2. Inner Harbor of Baltimore, and Annapolis. Both great places to see. Would require slips or mooring fees.
3. Down the Eastern Shore...stop at Miles River, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, then around to Tilgman Island, then up Choptank to Oxford, and Cambridge...
Charlie is our key connection on this..so please be sure to keep him informed of your plans.
We here are all excited about our "2nd Annual" gathering..Hope you are too!
