06/02 - 06/04 - Lankford Bay Marina, Eastern Shore

This is Terraplane Tom..

Sorry to be a bit behind on posting all the info. I talked to John A at the Marina and we are all set for June 2,3,and into the 4th.
I will be in Wisconsin for the next few days watching my 19year old swim at the Midwest College Championships...(she's a 1.01 backstroker)....so next week i plan a long post here giving all the details..who to contact, information about events..etc.

Basically we plan a repeat of last year..We have to always wait to decide on crabs, depending on whether they are runnning...counting on Terry's red hots (and the gloves are mine, Terry, hold them for me?)...

Music..the same, but i hope to bring my partners too...

There is a possibility of a short cruise, leaving Sunday the 4th..I would be able to go for the first three days..but i'd like to take y ou to some of my favorite places....

So, watch for the info. I think we had 32 boats last year..shooting for 33?

It's on our calendar. Looking forward to it and to meeting so many of you. Our brand new CD-25 cruiser "Passages" still sits in our driveway, shrinkwrapped, where it's been since delivery on 12 DEC. It will go into my boathouse as soon as the threat of ice is over. We're not far from Charlie and Sally; will be coming out of the Potomac R. One of my fellow CG Auxiliarists is getting his CD25 delivered in April, and I hope he'll be making the event as well. Sounds like a great time.

I'm gonna start an attendance list like I did last year and post it. I will use the signup list to get started so if you have not signed up, please do so. I will use the info I had last year about names, etc and get updates on when you plan to attend.

For those of you coming, be sure to call the marina early to get a spot, we ran out last year and some spent time on the hook, which isn't bad except if you forget and step off in the middle of the night...

Hi Brats,

Hey, we'll be there again this year, but WITH a boat this time. Ours hadn't come in yet last year. So that's one more if we're going for a record.

I'll get there about a week early to cruise. Marcia has a meeting in Louisville, but will fly into Baltimore on Sunday and I'll run across and pick her up like Salty Dog helped me do last year. We'll cruise about a week after that.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Awaiting delivery of my C-Dory 25 next month. I will plan to join you and the other owners on the second of June. Please add my name to the list of expected attendees.
Will you be sending out regular notices about dock space, directions, etc.?

Charlie
how do I get my name on your sign up list?

Gary

Gary, go up to the top menu bar on the site and click on "Events Signup". You'll see a dropdown box. Pick the Eastern Shore Gathering for 2006 and the rest will be "obvious". I'll get some of your info from there and e-mail you for the rest.

Charlie

Tom, we plan on attending again this year and will probably arrive on Friday Jun 1st. This year we plan on cruising the Bay for a week or so following the Gathering. For some reason, we didn't learn of the cruise many went on down the bay last year, so we missed that.

You mentioned that you may set up a cruise following the Gathering which would be great, especially for those of us out of towners who are not familiar with Bay.

One thing though, when cruising will you dock or anchor up before dark? This is very important to me as I am handicapped with Retinitis Pigmentosa which leave me completly "night blind", so you can see the need to be tucked in by dark...... sort of like a reverse vampire..... :bat

Tom--Add SNAPSHOT to the gathering. We expect to join the gang on Friday. Spoke w/John who said space is still available
Looking forward to a repeat of the great fun we had last year. Warm winds.

Tom, I'll start the spreadsheet this week with what we know so far. All, please signup at the top of the home page. I will e-mail/PM you if I need info.

Charlie

Charlie, Tom et all;

Thanks for all the effort and work being done on this East Coast Gathering.

Sea Angel has a reservation set and plans on being there Fri, Sat + .

A Norfolk/Virginia Beach Convoy will gather and head north for this event about the Monday before to cover the expected 177NMs. So far we hope to have "Alma's Only", "Orca" and "Sea Angel". Any other vessel that wants to join us along the way is more than welcomed; not only for the trip north, but also to return.

Charlie - put us down on the spreadsheet as "attending in spirit" - I will at least be wearing a nice red "Don't bother me, I'm crabby" Baltimore teeshirt on the weekend of June 2nd!

We are already at about 20 signed up for the June gathering...great! The Andersen's will be there in spirit...we might use that "sleeping face" picture of Pat for the annual t.shirt. (Hey, glad you guys liked the Baltimore gifts...)
As usual, if there are any special requests, or ideas for the gathering, let me know and we can add to the plan. We don't move fast here..."all deliberate speed" is our motto.

To my committee: can we plan a meeting here in Rock Hall sometime?

I'll buy coffee.

I made my reservation at Lankford Bay Marina this morning. All I had to say was, "I am with the C-Dory Group", and we had everything completed in two minutes. Friendly folks!

Steve

Sounds like it's all coming together! Tom, we're ready to meet for planning whenever it works for the rest of the committee.

I got wise this year and have arranged my schedule for a few days off during week following our rendezvous - hope we'll be able to put together a group for a few days of cruising around the Bay.

Thinking about the warmer weather puts a smile on my face. We had a foot of snow over last weekend, then temperatures in the 50s for the last two days, and now it's headed back down to freeeeezing. Can't wait for winter to go away!

Tom
Even though I still don't have my boat, I have made slip reservations for the June 2-4 get together at Langford Bay Marina.
Looking forward to meeting you and all the other C-Dory owners.

Gary

I've made my slip reservations as well. It was easy. Now, waiting for better weather to get the new boat unwrapped, out of my driveway and into the boat house. It's tough waiting.
