Warren and Lori, don't know if you have incurred any out of pocket expenses (Yacht Club rental fee?), but it is a time-honored tradition for C-Brats to chip in with a few bucks each to cover the organizer's costs. Let us all know if we can help defray costs!

Yes, that would be great. The Yacht Club cost me $50 to rent, and the mementos were $4 each. Cary bought a bunch of food for Saturday's breakfast on the dock, but I don't know how much he spent.

Thank you again for the signed TrawlerFest poster. I'll put it on the wall by my computer to remind me of good times with the C-Brats.

I am embarrassed, however, that at the time you presented me with the poster, I did not ask Cary Tolman and Pat Stephani to stand with me -- they put together the excellent directory to Anacortes resources as well as taking on responsibility for the Saturday morning breakfast.

I would also like to apologize for the way Island Cafe treated our group Sunday morning. It was inexcusable, and when they said they would not let me reserve a group of tables for us, I never dreamed they would not seat us at all. They will not be getting my future business and I will make sure word gets around about this incident.

All in all, however, a wonderful weekend -- thanks to all of you for helping to make it so!

It was ANOTHER fun CBGT. Thanks Warren. Sorry Two Lucky Fish had to skedaddle. My sister went into labor Saturday evening, and she delivered at 5:21 Sunday morning. My dad drove and I took the boat to Port Townsend.

Well, actually, my dad drove to PT. I TRIED to take the boat, but when I got out into Rosario Strait, I was STRONGLY motivated to take refuge in Bowman Bay. THEN the forecast got an update: small craft advisories, 15-25 knot westerly, 2-4 foot waves. Yup, that's about what I was in when I decided to seek shelter. Meanwhile my dad calls...he's on the ferry, the water is glass-smooth. Great, but I can't GET there, and I'm looking at 20 miles of open water I don't want to cross!

So I took Two Lucky Fish through Deception Pass and home to Edmonds, where my wife and the girls met me. We took the ferry across. Oh, and it's hardly worth mentioning that I put my slip into the loan-a-slip program for the duration of my EXPECTED absence, and it's occupied. So I'm paying for guest moorage at my own marina! The loan-a-slip proceeds probably outweigh a night of guest moorage, though, so I'm not really unhappy about it. I'm pretty pleased with the Port of Edmonds marina management, actually.

Anyway, when all was said and done, it took me NINE HOURS to get from Anacortes to Port Townsend!

But hey, the baby's cute as can be. So little. So soft. His name is Blake, and mom and baby are both doing fine.
 
Hi Warren and assistants!

We had a great time at our first c-brat gathering! It was so nice to put some faces with the names. Trinity made it home to Edmonds with fairly calm waters on Sunday.

All the c-brats made us feel very welcome and we hope to see many of you soon out on the water!

MANY, MANY THANKS WARREN, LORI, CARY AND PAT,

To say Bob and I had a great time with all the C-Brats at Anacortes is an understatement !!! What a wonderful group of people and how fortunate we feel to be part of it.

The weather on Saturday could not have been better and having all those neat trawlers to look at was a treat.

Cocktails and dinner Friday night, breakfast overlooking the sunny dock on Sat. and of course our, as usual, GREAT Saturday Night Potluck --- all made it a perfect CBGT.

We left our slip a bit before 8 yesterday to head slowly through the channel to Whidbey where our truck and trailer awaited. We arrived back in Bend safe and sound about 9:30 last night.

Again, thank you all, and especially Warren for spearheading this fun event. We appreciate everyones efforts.

Warren, Lori, Cary and Pat,

A BIG thank you from the Dreamer crew for all the effort I know it takes to put one of these events together. We took off this AM at 0715 expecting smoother water than yesterday. We found the smooth water after passing Smith Island! Passed Dr. Bob just before entering Sequim Bay around 0930.

As usual, we had a great time visiting with new and old friends. 3 nights in Victoria was also enjoyable with Sea Pal and Wood Duck. I haven't checked how much weight I gained yet!

3 weeks of projects and preparation before leaving for the Broughtons. I got 2 small ones finished this afternoon. Now, If someone would weed my yard!
 
Wish I could have made this one.... Looks like a great time was had...and I can not wait for the photo album...and the pics to start being posted.

So, anyway, what a great deal, had a blast. A HUGE "thank you" to Warren and Lori! Also to Jeff M for the demo on the new and improved Ranger 25, what an awesome boat! And last but not least to ace Wallas tech John Livingston, who got us going in short order! Went out Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m. for the usual Baxter row-around, it was very cool! Got this little sunrise pic!

Peter - enjoy the sunrise picture, I know that you will, you know, actually ever SEE one in person! Then again, I will never see whatever it is you see at two a.m., either!
 
We had a very good time. ( you have to say that the way the guy in MUMMY does in the prison yard) glad to see everyone again and some new faces. Tooks some folks out for a test drive on sunday and then we went on a test drive of the new 25 ranger. I say new because with the new engine its like a different boat. Its back on the short list of NEXT boats. We came by water all the way from everett to the gathering. 48 miles in 3 hours flat. The next day we ran the boat up to blaine to have dinner with my folks. Total 95 miles from everett and 30 gallons of fuel. Thats runniing from 5mph in swinomish channel to wide open in flat water and 16mph in some following seas. So 3.16 mpg. Today we ran from blaine to everett in 5 hours flat. 85 miles on the way back. I cut a few corner off the way home. we burned about 30 again gallons maybe less . a lot of that way at 25+ mph on flat water. We ran into c-dancer in la connor and got a wave from Capt jack just pass the bridge. Now Iam already back at work and about to go home. really great weekend.
 
This pic is not what I was hoping for, but I am going to post it anyway - Eagle Harbor in the early a.m. of the Monday following the Anacortes CBGT. The boat on the far right is Daydream. The next one over is Frequent Sea. The boat on the left is anchored where we would have liked to have been, but it was just too shallow and too windy when we came in to get up in there...

Well, another successful CBGT on the books. Warren, Lori Ann, Carey and Pat (no not you Daydream Pat), thanks for putting together such a nice gathering. You couldn't ask for better weather on Saturday (what a surprise) and it was great that we were able to enjoy the digs at the Anacortes Yacht Club on both Friday and Saturday nights. And what fun it was see our C-Brat friends once again and to meet new ones. It was an extra special treat to finally meet Dr. Bob in person. What a genuinely kind and gracious man.

Sunday morning in Anacortes was quite windy and we intended to go whale watching on the west side of San Juan Island. We decided to go up on the east side of Guemes Island and across Rosario Strait from up north. I knew Rosario would be nasty and it didn't disappoint with 3-4 foot seas. But C-Dancer made it across like a champ and we continued on our journey. Since it was getting late, we decided to change our plans and anchor in Blind Bay. What a beautiful spot and it was really calm and serene. It was definitely our best trip on the hook thus far! :thup
Oh and Pat, thanks for the sunrise pic. Now I know what one of those looks like. :teeth

We saw the Susan E crew (Tom & Susan) in the Swinomish Channel on the way home this morning. Made it back to Everett around 4:00pm and have finally found time to check out the site again after 4 days.
