05/16 - 05/18 - Friday Harbor 2014

Last year we had a small flotilla launch at John Wayne and leave for Friday Harbor from Sequim Bay. Crossing the Juan de Fuca Strait early morning.

Wondering if there is anyone planning on or interested in crossing The Strait together this year. Morning crossings are traditionally the better conditions.

Looking forward to this weekend.

We have nothing reserved on the outside of "H". In the past there were a few open spaces but I wouldn't plan on any. We should have enough room for all.

The motor has been serviced, the bottom painted, new zincs and back in the water this morning. We are planning on crossing the straight Wednesday night or Thursday morning depending on the weather. Looking to spend Thursday night with Nomad at Montague Harbour and then on to Friday Harbour.

I'm at Cap Sante marina in Anacortes & will come over probably Saturday. Count me in. There is a fellow here, Brad, in a CD22 and may join in. He is not a Brat but will be soon. He is having major carb problems on a Honda90 so he may come on the ferry. Hello to all.

This is turning into quite an international event! 7 states, British Columbia and the Republic of Panama shown on the sign up list. Can't wait to see all the new and familiar faces. We should arrive about 10:30 Friday on the WSF.

Just installed Raymarine S1000 auto pilot and did something wrong. It is not talking to my Garmin 740. I suspect I'll still be trying to fix it when I get to Friday Harbor. If you've played this game before, I'd appreciate not reinventing the wheel.

Hi Chuck,

That is the same AP that I have on SleepyC. It decided to go on strike when the AIS was installed so the boat has been in Ptld for the last couple weeks getting the kinks worked out. They say she's good to go so I get reunited tomorrow. I'm hoping everything is OK when I get to FH. Wish I could help you. I know who can -- Rogers Marine in Portland If you are going that way. Worth the rip for me.

Really looking forward to Friday Harbor.

Darn Roger, I thought you were going to tell us you would be arriving in your new (to you) C-Dory. It will be great to see you just the same!

The wiring combinations can be tricky. Plus, those darn wires are tiny. I had to use a small wire connector strip to connect the wire combinations together. I'm sure I as well as others can help if you're still having difficulty.

Two Lucky Fish +1 will be there. We plan to attend the dinner Friday, so that means two adults and two big kids, "plus one" Tristan who won't eat much.

Also, on Saturday and Sunday mornings, I'll be testing my brand new 99-cent pot skirt. Should be interesting...

No need to sign up for the Friday night dinner, just join the group walking up. Debbie works with our overall numbers. We now have three Christenings, Ari, Anytime Baby, and C-View II. The plan is to do those after the potluck on Saturday. The Brat gathering kitty will provide, plates, bowls, silverware, napkins, 6-8 large serving utensils, tablecloths, etc. It also provides the gifts given away at the gathering, has paid for rental tables, nametags, keepsakes, and so on. Just thought I'd let everybody know where the donations go.

See you there.

Thanks Barry looking forward to a great event. Weather like this will hold. We are in Roche Harbour, took a slip overnight and will go anchor in the harbour tonight. Jones Island tomorrow. Any Brats about swing on by. George and Carolyn
