Thanks for the warm welcome. We're really looking forward to meeting you guys and your boats! We own a tandem sea kayak that we've done some fun outings on, but we really have been wanting to get a power boat since last summer when we took a little crabbing trip on my uncle's Grady White up near Lummi Island. After that outing we really started considering our own boat, but we were discouraged by the apparent cost of a "sound-worthy" boat, as well as the fact that we'd need big a truck to pull a boat that heavy.
It wasn't until this winter/spring when we were researching Arimas, and realized we didn't need a super heavy boat with a 150hp motor and a giant truck to pull it, just to go safely out on the sound. I was talking with co-workers, one who recently purchased a Ranger Tug, and another who commutes to his cabin on a Skagit Orca, and they both mentioned C-Dory. I was thrilled to find this site and to start learning about the boats. I love the simplicity of the boats, the ruggedness without a lot of weight, the efficiency, and of course the classic looks. And I still haven't seen one in person! Lately, every time I walk my bike through the Ballard Locks on the way to/from work, I've been keeping my eyes open looking for a C-Dory.
