05/09 - 05/12 2024 Friday Harbor CBGT

Oh Boy, getting excited here! Just brought home the boat from Sportcraft Marina in Portland with a brand new Suzuki 175! Old Honda 150 gave it up out at Sekiu fishing so we got her a new motor a couple years early!

Happy that Jay and Jolee are out at Sucia already. Super excited that the
C-Brat Gurus will be in attendance this year.

I will be temporarily taking over boat christening honors from Pat Anderson this year so if you're so inclined make sure you bring bring some greenery and spirits to christen your wonder C-Dory after the Saturday potluck.

See you all in a week!

Will be following along via the forum
Such memories of FH with CBrats.
I’m still a c brat even though I have a different boat
Staying in touch. Have fun everyone

Judy and I are currently visiting family on Vancouver Island. We did an 8 day trip in Desolation Sound and hardly saw another boat last week. We are now prepping to launch at Ladysmith on Monday and cross over to the US on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on weather and conditions. Hopefully we won't have problems with the border agents and their computer systems again. We are looking forward to meeting old friends and making new ones next week.

Nice. We look forward to meeting you and Leo at the event. Weather looks to be good with sun in the forecast. Thanks Andrew.

As a reminder to all, don't forget to bring your Boating / Travel / Local History Books for a book exchange – Saturday, 2 PM, Party Barge (We all have books collecting dust at home, so let’s swap and get some new dreaming material.)

Potluck is on Saturday, 5 PM, Party Barge. Bring your own plates, utensils and favorite food. Boat christenings to follow by Patrick and Kim Walker.

We look forward to celebrating good times once again. Gary and Colleen

Leaving Sandpoint, ID tomorrow morning, looking forward to my 1st get together. Deeplake will be in H-7. Looking forward to seeing many C-Dorys and their great owners.

This is shaping up to be a reel-e big show! I'm really happy to hear that old timers Will, Mike, (and youthful Lois) are able to join us.

I hope cold weather climate Brats will be okay with the predicted sun and warm weather this weekend. Pat, thanks for the 2003 photo at Blakely Island. That was such a fun gathering. Patrick, so glad your new motor was installed as quickly as you'd hoped, and Will, relieved to see that your outboard is pissing just fine again.

Good work, Gary and Colleen! I look forward to seeing you, and everyone else who's commented and planning to attend. :hot

Hi Tom and Susan. I sent you a PM.

We will save you a spot. Karl and Tango on Nowhere Fast and us are spending a second night at Eagle Harbor on Cypress Island. Looking forward to start seeing everyone again starting tomorrow at Friday Harbor. Gary and Colleen

Hi Pat and Patty. We missed you both this year. As of this morning, I know of several boats that were heading for Sucia for the day. Maybe they will report in.

Colleen and I caught the one buoy on Patos for the night. If anyone is interested in snagging this buoy tomorrow, PM me and I will let you know when we are leaving.

Another successful event at the C-Brats gathering. We had 31 C-Dory boats at the event and 34 boats in total. We also had four couples attending without boats. Michael and Alana from Northwest Marine Industries were able to attend again this year and they gave out lots of swag at the potluck and I think every boat got some kind of gift. Everyone also really enjoyed the custom 2024 C-Brats T-shirts from NMI. Patrick on Kim Christine performed nine christening ceremonies for boaters with new boat names. Thank you Patrick for your service on this. Thank you Devon for your presentation on Saturday of your travels and experience with your trip to Alaska last year on C-Ration. Thank you everyone who volunteered to have the Auxiliary Coast Guard perform a vessel safety inspection on your boat. Nice to know that all of our C-Dory vessels are ready for safe Summer travel. Many boats left early this morning and are heading up to Canada for Princess Louisa again. I am sure that they will have a great time much like last year.

See you all at Friday Harbor on the second Thursday of May in 2025! Gary and Colleen

Well I may not have made it to Friday Harbor this year, but the annual Brats gathering still served as the forcing factor I needed to get the boat ready to use. I completed my anode rehabilitation project Saturday, and today I splashed the boat in Ballard and ran across to Fisherman's Terminal for coffee. Just a little shakedown to make sure everything works.

Hi Gary and Colleen,

Thank you for organizing another C-Brat get-together. It was good seeing you again. With our short time frame we spent much of our FH visit with our old timer C-Brats. That was a real high light of our FH trip! Wasn't enough time to meet and greet all the newer C-Brats. The C-Brats are an exceptional group!

Through the years with various builders these boats have never been built better and the people at the C-Dory plant (NMI) are generous and exceptionally helpful. Thank you Mike and Alana for being at FH this weekend.

Hope to see you next year if not sooner.
