05/04 - 05/05 - Lopez Opening Day 2007

C-Brats leaving from Cornet Bay,

For anyone needing a hand at the launch ramp, we plan to stay at Cornet Bay parks dock Thurs night and make the 11:10am slack at Deception Pass Fri morning.

Hey Les,Susan says she would really like that. Makes me feel better too. She will stop by the shop around 1030 to 1100 and come see you. I have programed the way points into the gps for her to follow. She may need a hand getting the follow way point screen up. I sure do appreciate the help.

Happy to help! Give me a call for my cell number, or email me...you know how the shop phone gets at times.

For those planning on launching at Washington Park, keep in mind that low tide is -1.8 at noonish on friday. I have been told that at minus tides the ramps there make for an interesting launch.

Channel 68 IS the official unofficial C-Brat channel for intra vessel communications. 16 is still the call channel. I usually try 68 first when I see another C-brother. (Or brotherette in the case of you ladies).

I am launching at 7 am on friday and putting the boat on my buoy in Cooks Cove. Can't launch below +2.0 on our ramp.

We should be leaving Twin Bridges at around 10:00 Friday morning. We will be fishing for ling cod on our trip over and hope to meet up with folks on the way. I am hoping the weather is finally calm for this gathering, we sure deserve it.

Fred and Robbin

Our plans were to launch at Cornet Bay on Friday as well. Thanks for the info about the tides. We now aren't sure whether we can still make it because on the weekend one of our Fur Kids got very sick. After 24 hours in the aminal emergency hospital ($1600 later) shes home but not doing great yet. We're still hoping to make it but it all depends on the sick furkid.

Best wishes for her speedy recovery. Having four furkids at home ourselves (and having been on a spending spree or two (or three) at the vet) I feel your pain and concern. At least when the human kids got sick they could talk to us (now that they're grown they don't bother).

All the best,

I want badly to get over to the gathering but odd as it may seem there isn't a boat that's ready-to-go here at the moment.
Les,
Yeah, those folks seem to take forever to get a boat ready at EQ.
Of course ya know Les, some of us may look at that statement of yours as proof positive that Karma really does exist.
Cheers,
Tom

Can't fault a guy who has a passion to do things right. Quality work just takes a little longer. Now, define "a little longer".

Les, we won't mind if you show up in something other than a C-Dory. Be great to see you there.

Janet here...

I am so impressed with Susan for going it alone! You rock!
By the way, for those who were asking, Washington park floats were destroyed over the winter and I'm not sure the status of the launch at this time.
Les, I'm walking onto the ferry on Saturday afternoon and Chris is picking me up near the ferry docks in Luna C. Let me know if you'd like to hitch a ride!

Within a year.

No David, you don't understand! There is NO boat here of any make or model that's water-ready at the moment. :disgust I don't know how that happened.

As it turns out I think I'm aced out of this one at any rate as we have a shipment of boats that are due in on Saturday. I'd bring one of those but it would require another person aboard and some darn long oars.

I brought the 50L keg (13.5 gal for you metricly((spelling??)) challenged) of Copperhead Pale Ale home today from the brewery. I bought a roll of foil doublebacked insulation stuff and have insulated the cut down half barrel and put what ice I have in it. Just have to keep it with-in the breweries tolerances for temp control for the rest of the week.

I will be arriving on Friday early afternoon and will require those of you that are interested in cold beer to once again invest in a few bags of ice to chill this puppy.

Don and I are also planning on launching at Cornet Bay either Thursday night and sleep at the dock or Friday a.m. It sounds like Susan will have a lot of help at the dock. We're looking forward to seeing everyone at Lopez. Les, we'll likely stop by to say hi while we're there, too.

Dee

Sounds like quite a party developing at Cornet Bay on Thursday.

Just how much space is there likely to be there on Thursday night???? Anyone have any idea ?

That would be an alternative for us and a much better ramp than Oak Harbor. Just have to do the rig shuttle trick over a slightly longer distance.

We were hoping to get free and head north this week to join all at Lopez, like last year. Won't make it -- Doc said "NO." So, still aground for a little while but we'll be there in spirit. Have a great time!

The name tags are designed and done. If there are any last minute stragglers, PM me. Otherwise, I have plenty of blanks that you can write on. Don't worry Fred, I saw that you finally signed up.

Hi All,
Work Release is still planning on joining in on this great annual gathering, even thou I was unable to get moorage at the resort. I even called the Islander today to see if I booked a room if I could tie up to their dock. They said it did not matter, all the dock space had been reserved. Don't suppose I could raft up to someone?? Even thought of docking at Friday Harbor if necessary. Plan on coming up mid-day Friday after trying for some ling cod.
Jim
