04/20 - 04/30 - Lake Powell

Hi,All

We will be leaving home for Lake Powell in the next few hours. Need to get the last few things loaded. 20 degrees here last night.

Rick Ross and Gary King (Ricks Amigo) arrived last night to look at Discovery. They will travel with us to Wahweap, to observe the launch and see the boat on the water, and get a water test. They have only seen the TC255 at the Boat show.

Should arrive at Wahweap earily evening, will call on channel 16. Joel should be there about the same time also.

Jon,

In case you missed it. Under this topic, page 3, El and Bill post #881, they gave directions to us on how to go from Bull Frog to where they will most likely be on the 23rd and 24th.

We plan to leave home, Cokeville, Wy, late on the 22nd. Should arrive Bull Frog sometime the 23rd. To many variables to give a time. We plan to slowly work our way down too. Will keep and eye out for you.

I plan also to launch on the 23rd at BF. I saw the post by Bill&El so I will look for you and maybe we can go down together. Travel Safely!!

I have found from reading the post on "C-Brat Geatherings" that we folks show a lack of consideration and are insensitive to those left on shore. We do not post pictures in a very timley manner. In other words, we want reports and pictures "NOW"....
CAN YOU HEAR ME OUT THERE!!??

Hi, Brats

Just arrived home from a wonderful 10 days at Lake Powell. Ended up with 8 boats and 13 C-Brats. Traveled the lake from Waheap to Knowles canyon, and returned. Probably covered at least 300+ miles. Will download the camera and post some pix in the AM.

Brent

Can't wait for these pics. Have read a lot about Lake Powell... maybe next year. Come on Brent.....wake up, have a cup of coffee, and post a few.. the suspense is killing me.

Brent: Many thanks for the pictures. Those are for sure some great shots. Looks as if I missed a real winner of a trip. My loss for sure. I have had an opportunity to travel with 4 of those boats in my home waters of the Cumberland River in the Nashville/Mt. Juliet TN area last April. Great folks. Great boats. Great time for sure. Thanks for the pics.

Got home last night. Wonderful time!! Thanks for posting the pictures so quick Brent. Great assortment of people, c-dorys and scenery you captured.

After posting 6 pictures it wouldn't let me do any more. If someone can find out why, I'll post some more.

More good pictures & memories, thanks Joel. Still chuckling over your stories.

Thanks to you too Dixie. I imagine you took more of those pictures than Brent.

Finally found out what I was doing wrong, so was able to post a few more pictures.

The Lake Powell photos are spectacular! Those Ribbon Canyon Campground images are especially amazing... how did you get those boats in there unscathed? Any of you participants want to enlighten those of us who have never been to Lake Powell with a tale of that particular campsite? I am more excited now than before (is that possible?). Thanks for sharing those images with us.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

WooooooooWWWWW....

Great photo's gang. That is why we love C-Dory boats... Great photo's. Looking forward to some more... I have spent the last 30 minutes with this photo albumn in the slideshow mode running in a loop. Great stuff.

Great Pictures. I know. I was there and saw the real thing. Hope to get some of my own up on our 2Wander site. Don't know when I'll have time. Expect to leave with Halcyon and her crew for Lopez this morning. North after that.

Penny and I had a great time. Met some new and interesting folks and got to visit with some old ones.

Yes, El, Bill and Chris, Powell is a 10.

Jim B,

You're right, Ribbon Canyon is an amazing campsite. The group had planned on staying up Escalante Canyon that night. Getting late, couldn't find a good spot not already taken. Bill & El had stayed on Ribbon Canyon before and thought it might work. With different water levels you never know for sure. We went in and checked it out. Thought it might work, but didn't know if all the boats could find a spot. Chris (Rana Verde) came in said it would take us all. Up to where Chris tied off you could moter in carefully. We had to poll in to our spot with moters up. Nobody had any trouble getting in due to these AMAZING BOATS. In the morning I climbed up the rocks to look directly down on the boats for the pictures.

Patty here. I just viewed the album and kept saying, "Wow." I am so jealous. I so want to go there. I simply say "ditto" to the posts that precede me---really amazing scenery and cruising places. Please---anyone who can't get their boat there consider sharing a houseboat next April!
