How do we set up a gathering on the calender? I was going to either suggest a date for our Cathlamet gathering this year or take the lead and put it on the calendar and call ahead. Hopefully I won't be stepping on anyone feet in this regards as we had so much fun last year and this is promising to be even better as the wife isn't going to be bringing her lap top.

Beings how I have this pic up front on my phone, I can get interested in Cathlamet again.

Clicking the pic takes you to last year's album.

It's easy to get a gathering started. Just open a new thread (like this one), toss out an idea and maybe a suggested date, the rest of us who might be interested will kick it around with you, and somewhwere about the middle of the second page of posts we have the info needed to make it official. I take it from there to change the topic title, add it to the Calendar, and set up a signup list. Easy. Generally the person to start the thread gets appointed as Cruise Director. That is a largely ceremonial role. It we were English we would call him the Queen.

I took the liberty of adding Cathlamet to the title of this thread so we know what we're talking about.

I think we can persuade Yellowstone John and Edna to make this trip if we plan it real good.

Bryrick,

I know that getting a straight answer out of ODFW is like getting a straight answer out of a politician (wait, I think they may be politicians), but I wonder if you could find out when they think springer season will close in the lower river. There are a number of folks who would like to drag a dead herring around.

What do you think about late April? 24th-26th? I'm thinking there should be good weather then. :smileo
I think another group has the common area reserved that weekend. Might check with the marina folks: 360-795-3501

Historically, the spring king runs tend to peak around April 25 or so. This year is predicted to be a good run so if things work out right, a late April date may be perfect (assuming the quota lasts that long). We've done Cathlamet before in March, but that's a bit early for the best fishing.

I called today and the only two weekends that are currently open with the gathering area available would be the 11th or the 18th. If we collectly choose the 18th I may not be able to attend as my wife is having a baby shower. However the 11th and we're game. Feedback? I thought I would call by Monday and reserve a spot for us.

I'll call them back today and schedule us for the 11th. Last year we ended up with a great spot and they mentioned yesterday that they would be doing the same.
There is shore power as well for those that want to hook up. I might just have to bring my new genny as I haven't had to use it yet this year. We bought it during the snow storm as our power went out and I didnt want our pipes freezing. Easy solution for the refrigerator. Just open the garage and let it cool....But five minutes after coming home w/ our new little 2000i the power came back on.
Anyhow, the 11th it is.
:thup

Maybe we could add a link on the homepage for requesting a gathering on the calendar. I checked to see who to PM for the weekend of the 11th, I am being told to PM Mike or Bill, so I checked our memberlist and found 28 Bills. I figured there would be just as many Mikes too. This might making a gathering just a bit easier. So if someone can tell me what Mike or Bills ships name is this would help me to narrow it down.

Mike is "Tyboo" and Bill is "Da Nag". They usually pick up on a request in a post but both of them seem to have jobs that get in the way sometimes... Put that into the address box on a PM and it'll get to them. You can't send it to both at the same time so send them each one.

Now me, I sit in front of two laptops all day working so I've got time to do stuff like this....

Though I don't own a C-Dory, I'd sure like to put some faces on the gang here. Would it be ok if I planned a brief visit but not take up a C-Dory owner's dock space? I'm thinking of a Coast Guard Aux. patrol with a lunch stop at Cathlamet. It's within my flotilla's area of responsibility. Perhaps I can bring a VE with me to do vessel inspections for those who desire the certification.

It's on the books. April 12 is Easter Sunday this year. Not a problem for us but something to keep in mind. Be suspicious of B~C's roadkill potluck offering if it looks anything like rabbit.

Signup list is here.

hey, good road kill is getting harder to find in these tough economic times and there are to many of those other protein sources running around the hood.

Cathlametstan, what a good time, I need to go tour the hardware store again
