If you are interested in attending this event, please reserve the following 2014 date on your calendar for an upcoming California C-Dory Gathering:

12th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza
Wednesday, April 9, 2014 to Sunday, April 13, 2014

More information will be forthcoming. This is a save the date "post-card" reminder. Hopefully, a sign-up event sheet can be created for this gathering. For now, please indicate on this thread if you are going and signing up.

Please do not sign up unless you can commit to the entire event. You might look at the last 11 years of threads if you want to get some idea of what this gathering is like.

There is a ten (10) boat maximum for this event because of duck club and San Francisco marina space limitations. The first ten boats signed up will be able to go. Please note that this event is one month earlier than normal because I will be in Alaska all of May and June 2014.

Right now two boats are already signed up, namely Dinner Belle II and Pounder. There are eight spaces left!

This is arguably the oldest, most long lived event of all C-Dory gatherings. If you make the commitment to go on this trip you will likely enjoy the journey. There are many repeat folks at this event. All are welcome.

If there is interest, because I am now retired, I may come down a little early on Monday, April 7th, for some upper Delta boating, before the official kick-off on Wednesday at Noon. More later on this.

This trip is one of the best in all of C Dorydom…Both of the Cruises put on by Jim are outstanding--and the Delta is one which everyone should have on their "bucket" list!
 
Congratulations on your retirement Jim! My health issues are in the past and we're ready to once again participate in the Delta Extravaganza. Marcia and I are excited to take part in the adventure and also meet new Brats and renew old acquaintances.

MARCIA JANE has been idle for far too long and is anxious to get out of storage.

I missed last year's event for a multitude of reasons, I don't intend on missing this year's, please count me in along with 1, possible 2 crew.

Wow! What a fantastic response. We now have only three spots (3) left for this Delta and Bay Extravaganza. Folks must be realizing that life is getting kind of short.

For the past few years the site has not opened up any special threads for our two California cruises (Delta and Catalina). It has worked out ok with just these two threads we have now. It is not a big deal because the delta trip is already fully booked, and the Catalina trip folks can drop in and out any time they want.

Jim,

I had a hard time finding this thread of discussions once it fell off of the "Most Recent Topics" list-- it is in the "General Technical Discussions" forum.
It should be in the "C-Brats Cruises and Gatherings" forum since these are about some of our BEST cruises.
The Catalina Off-Shore Adventure (August 2014) needs to be switched over, also.

Mike, Bill- is there a way to relocate these topics?

I'm sure they can move the old ones. Alternatively, you could put a link on there to their present location. In the future, if you start them there, they'll stay there. :thup

Topic moved to the correct forum, but since the gathering is at capacity and the participants are listed in an earlier post - I'm not sure what good a signup sheet will do. In fact, it could likely hinder things as I've no way to prevent anyone from adding their name to the signup list.

However, if the participants still want one - I'll be glad to set one up.

Yes. You are correct. Do not do an event thread for the Bay and Delta Extravaganza.

It just confuses things as this event is already at capacity. I am currently telling folks off line that they are on a waiting list as we cannot take any more than 10 boats for this particular event.

Roger:

This is why I have not wanted a sign up sheet before for the Bay and Delta Extravaganza. It is ok for the Catalina event, because there is no boat limit for that event.
