Thanks Harvey and others... Got a call from Roger SENSEI late afternoon, but was at a basketball game being played on Sunday rahter than Saturday due to the snow and ice we now have. We do not have all the snow cleaning gear as we only get it about once every 5-6 years....so, it stays in the way a bit longer. Roger..sorry I could not hear you with the noise and hope you heard me. We won the game with a 3 point shot with 10 seconds left in the game...and was the only time we led the game. Awesome...much noise, great fun shouting at the refs'... but, for sure wish I had been with my C-Brats.

Some big "Thank Yous" are in order here. Roger, for putting this gathering together and having all of the necessary equipment at hand for the potluck. Napkins, forks, plates etc. Also for getting up early on Sunday morning and going out into the fields and hand digging 
the two boxes of red potatoes that he so graciously gave away. Yum!
Linda for being our agent in getting our room. Nice rooms by the way.
Pat (and David) for bringing a cooler full of the best beer this side of just about anywhere. Snoqualmie Beer rocks.
Matt and Kitsap Marine for putting up with a bunch of tire kickers taking up space on their boats when they were trying to sell said boats to real buyers.
Sea Sport for showing a newly built 22 that had a very nice fit and finish, and for talking to us in a way that made us feel valued as a resource for their new undertaking.
Jeff at Ranger Tugs for being just as gracious to us the 5th time we boarded the Ranger 29 as he was the 1st time, even though there were waiting lines to get aboard.

To those who brought slide shows of trips that they had taken in their C-Dorys. Very Nice

But the biggest thanks has to go to all of the folks who were able to make it to the event and who made it so very special. What a great group. There was a wonderful contingent of first timers who are a great addition to the Brats. Folks came from Florida, Alaska, Maryland, Idaho, California, Oregon and British Columbia. Those of you who could not make it, you were truly missed.

For those of us that couldn't be at the show, what is the Sea Sport built 22 like? What's changed compared to earlier 22's?

To vote with 20dauntless, anybody take a picture of the "new" C-Dorys or care to describe the changes in the new boats?
The only boat picture wasn't a C-Dory, or if it was, there's been a heck of a change.

I didn't take pictures but looked over the Sea Sport built 22' pretty well. Here's my recollections.
Lazarette hatches are much smaller. Looks like you could just barely get a 24 series battery inside. The starboard lazarette is now sealed on the bottom. On my 2006 the aft 6 inches or so was open down to the area above the fuel tanks. I like the sealed lazarette and would either get larger hatches put in during construction or install larger ones after purchase.
Interior gelcoat paint is still speckled but has a much glossier appearance.
Dinette table is much changed. The surface is brown laminate with no raised lip and I don't much care for that but the table support is now a large telescoping cylinder (about 4-6" in diameter) that slides up and down so to convert the table to a bed you just need to unscrew the lock and slide it down. That eliminates the short support post we've all grown to "love". Much much stronger than the old style and much easier to use. Flipping the leg up and pulling the table off the wall to make up the bunk was a PITA on the old style. A disadvantage to this is that the cylinder now protrudes into the under table storage area. The support for the half of the table that folds down is also much improved. On the old style that half was supported by a barrel bolt that attached to the cabin wall. hard to latch and not great support. Now there is a sliding panel about 4-6" in width that extends from the fixed side of the table out about 6" under the folding side. Much stronger. A good fix that I will incorporate into C-Cakes.
Interior access hatches are very small, way too small and there is only a single tiny hatch to access the area under the dinette. That should be changed. They look like getting anything into or out of the various storage areas would be a PITA. Changing the hatches would really improve the boat.
The slanted storage area under the rear seat cushion is now gone. I'd really miss that. I keep spare prop, spare anchor, lines, emergency hull repair kit, etc. in that space and it is very important to me.
The under cooking area storage now extends from the front of the helm seat all the way back to the cabin bulkhead so you could put larger things in there, but...there are no shelves built in at all, its just a big open space. That opens up opportunities to customize but if you're not into that there is a lot of wasted space.
The helm seat is way better than the old factory design. I replaced the factory seat on C-Cakes a few years ago but this looks better enough that I may pull the aftermarket one out and install a Sea Sport factory version.
The wheel is now a tilt-wheel that looks like it would be a great change.
There is a center cabin light situated under the chart flat storage shelf at the front of the cabin area and there is a teak ring about 1" thick to which the overhead cabin lights are attached. Not sure why.
The slides for the "Barber" seat are wider and the barrel bolts that held it in place are gone. On reflection they were probably never necessary.
In the Vee-berth the porta-potti area is recessed further so a person could actually sit on it with the curtain closed and there is a fold down flap that hangs in front of the porta-potti so it is not visible all the time. The privacy curtain is now a pull-across curtain instead of the older split curtain with snaps, a better solution. There is a round hatch about 10" in diameter under the center mattress giving access to what looks like a pretty good-sized storage area obtained by removing some of the flotation that filled that void in the older design. That may make up for the loss of storage in the cabin. There is a hatch covering the anchor rode storage area. A nice addition that I will probably copy.
That's about all I can recollect. Others will undoubtedly see things I missed.

Thanks Jim (and Robbi, too) for mentioning the photos but I wasn't alone as Roger (Dreamer) posted some, too. However, we weren't the only ones taking pictures and I'd love to see some of the other SBS photos show up in the album.
Went back to the boatshow today and visited with the C-Dory crew at Kitsap Marine (that's how I found out about the new 22CD being sold and going to Swift Current, Saskatchewan where I have relatives, BTW); visited with Mac (Island Ranger) and Jeff Messmer and of all people to show up at the Ranger Tug display was Scott Mathews who used to work at C-Dory. Also, last night Ranger Tug received an award for the best display in the Seattle Boat Show. Way to go, Jeff & crew!
