01/27 - 01/29 - Seattle boat show and C-Brat Gathering

Anyone who hasn't gotten or kept their C-Brat name badges can have one ready for them at the get together.

P-M or e-mail me your names, boat name, boat model, home town and trim color. By Wednesday please..

Hi folks.

Time to finalize the bus information. Because of Sea Wolf Joe's unfortunate cancellation we have a seat open on the bus. So, if anyone is going to the pub alone we have one single seat available. If you are interested please PM me and I will add you to the list. If more than one person wants the seat I will add whomever contacted me first. If you cannot remember if you signed up, the sheet is in event signups. If by chance you no longer need the seats you signed up for please let me know ASAP so I can make them available to someone else.

The bus will begin loading at the hotel promptly at 5:00PM and will depart for the pub   at 5:15PM. We will begin loading at the pub at 9:15PM and depart for the hotel at 9:30PM. We should be back to the hotel about 10:30PM.

The recent snowfall killed any chance of our getting a bigger bus as they are tied up with skiers so we have what we have.

Thanks.

The one seat has been spoken for so we are at 36 seats for a 36 passenger bus.

Please check the signup sheet and if you are on it by mistake pm me so we can offer seats to someone else.

Thanks

I have a problem and will not be able to make this gathering for anything except maybe for a few hours Saturday evening. The snow storm on the 17th of this month dumped 18 to 20 inches of snow on me then we had an ice storm the following day. Been without power since then and may not have it back until the end of the week. If I have it by Friday, I will stop up there Saturday evening for a few hours but will have to return to the farm that evening.

We sure hope you can make it, Dave. We really enjoyed meeting at Bellingham last summer and were looking forward to seeing you again.

We can commiserate about the power issue. We got ours back on Sunday, only to discover that our 30+ year-old-furnace did not revive. Looking forward to finally getting some heat tomorrow when the new one is installed.

Paul and I would like to make a contribution to the potluck raffle kitty with one of our personal favorites: a pound of Camano Island Roasters Coffee and an item that was indispensible last week: a wind-up, rechargeable flashlight.

See you all on Saturday, with sore feet, no doubt, from trudging through the show.

That's funny! No way do you get 36 C-Brats herded through a single door in 15 minutes! Not even Ruthie could do that. Getting them in after a few hours at the pub will take even longer.

Mike, Surely you know that as one of the two site masters YOU have responsibility for getting everybody on board, in the seats facing straight ahead, and chanting "C-BRATS" What...did you forget that!!

Is this bus the one with pole dancing or do I have it confused with the Hummingbird Pub Bus? Either way, it should be like herding cats!

Two seats have opened up for the bus.

Roger must have scared somebody off when he brought up the subject of pole dancing. I'd almost (I said almost) pay extra to watch Roger pole dance on the bus.

Slight change of plans. It is looking like we will be there for the Friday evening festivities but will be returning home that night. I'm sorry to be missing the potluck, but I will leave the wine with someone.

Just a question. Do they have lights on the Snoqualmie Falls at night? If they do, and anyone wants a picture, I'd be happy take them for a quick look.

That is a big PROBABLY! They always have, the only reason for any doubt is that I have not been there in the evening for quite a while, and Puget Sound Energy is SERIOUSLY re-plumbing the whole works! But it is definitely worth a look!

Here is one of my favorite pix, not taken by me, but used by permission!

A quick boat show report: not a single C-Dory to be seen. LOTS of boats, just none of our favorite brand. There is a SeaSport (watch your head going in the cabin). Master Marine has a display, but no C-Dorys... I was told that they sold the one they had "just the other day."

Plenty of raves over the Ranger display - one of each model they make, and the new 31 has people drooling... VERY cool cockpit seating and interesting command bridge. Those folks know how to make boats that keep owners wanting to move up.

Plenty of boat "stuff" in the various stuff booths. We were waiting in line to get in this morning, and the traffic was pretty light to start... but certainly picked up as the day went on. It's been six years since we attended this show, and it didn't seem appreciably smaller than back then.

There were plenty of go-fast, and go-in-a-circle boats, but not a lot of people at those displays. We by-passed a lot of that stuff and still barely made it through the show before heading back to the hotel in time to get on the bus.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the get-together this evening and doing the on-the-water displays tomorrow.

I'll post more, including photos, on our blog when I get the chance.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

We made it......scary traffic for us Mt drivers to go far after dark  So will have to meet up with brats tomorrow nite....can someone give me some sort of idea of what to bring to your potluck? And when we came to SBS years ago the CBrats were congregated near the C Dory dealer.....now I read that there aren't any to be found. Are any CBrats setting up your table somewhere?

It was a fun night with fellow C-Brats at the Tap Room in Snoqualmie. Good food, good brew, good music, and good fellowship. Thank you Pat, David, Roger, Barry, and fellow Brats for another great gathering. With more to follow at the boat show and dinner tomorrow.
