01/26 - 01/28 - Seattle Boat Show

Well, didn't make it to the SBS today, but we did the Argosy cruise, it was great fun, Catman was at the locks and Marty P met us on the fresh water side on Lizzy...the party at the hotel just is wrapping up now, lots of good food, beverage and conversation all around. Tomorrow most of us will be off to the SBS, topped off with the factory bash. Stay tuned!

Any early boat show reviews? You folks don't party to hard. We'll be poking around the show tomorrow and hitting the factory wing-ding, just a day tripper for us

If I knew how to post a picture here I'd put one up showing a "boat full of C-Brats going through the locks on a typical sunny day in Seattle. "

Wow, what a party at the C-Dory factory! Thanks to Scot and Jeff and the entire C-Dory crew for outdoing themselves! Great food, great door prizes and...the Seafair Pirates! Cannons firing, Moby Duck, the whole deal! I can't estimate the crowd, but it was HUGE...Our own special thanks to C-Dory and Motorboating Magazine for the laminated version of the story on our Alaska trip, we will treasure it! The SBS was cool too, for sure, the C-Ranger 25 was definitely the "buzz" boat, a long line for a chance to take a look inside the whole time we were there. Parted with a little money, too, for an Alaskan Series by Gary King 7'10" dinghy, only bad part is won't get it until May. Boats Afloat, well, that is something to dream about for when we cash in the house in Fall City and can live full time in Blaine. Right now the Nordic Tug 32' looks just about right to us!

Yes - thanks to the factory for a good party and thanks again to Roger (Sensei) for organizing the Hawthorne suites deal and the boat show tickets. Pat- the crowd was 200+. There were 200 chairs at the tables and they were almost all full even when there were still a number of people standing.

Also thanks to Dave (Oldgrowth) who I met for lunch yesterday and who insisted in picking up the tab. We had a nice conversation and I learned a bit more about how he plans to make the current 2-piece boat back into a 1-piece boat. I also learned the identity of the helper in the overalls but that's his business to disclose. For those who are wondering, Dave and I didn't need to pass around any "peace pipe" as we both are capable of separating our very different thoughts about ideas from our respect for each other as a person. :thup

What a special time together -- the Argosy cruise, the Brat Gathering at the Hawthorne Suites, the show, and the fabulous dinner/show at the C-Dory factory last night. Can't add much to Pat's posting, except to say a Big Thanks to all who make this possible -- first and foremost to the C-Dory folks who produce a great line of boats, a great party, and good friendship with their customers. And to Pat and David for the beer, to Terry for the Red Cat, Byrdman for the bbq and arranging the boat cruise, Roger (and Linda)for all the arrangements, Bill and Mike for the Brat site -- and to all, for those special, shared moments together -- THANKS!!

What a great time! Thanks to one and all. Robbi

Oh, and about the :hot . Those of you from out of state, you were so lucky. We haven't seen blue skies since Oct 12th. Really.

Wow!! That's all I can say about that! Thanks so much to everyone here and there. I do recall lots of cameras flashing, so keep an eye out for the pictures. Unbelievable. Those poor guys at LUSR don't know what hit 'em!

Many thanks to Roger (Sensei) for moderating this event, Linda for lodging arrangements, Scot, Jeff and all the employees from the factory for all of their generosity, the Andersons and McKibbens for the beer and Snoqualamie Falls Brewery Tour, Byrdman for the BBQ Pork and all the other folks who helped make this such a success. Great to see C-Brats from the past and meet and chat with new C-Brats.
I did overhear some folks that live out of the area ask questions about the Sea Fair Pirates that cruised into the factory, so click on this link and you can read about them. www.seafairpirates.org

Did anyone see Sea Wolf Joe up there? He was on the signup list and he hasn't posted on here since last Tuesday, so I really expected to see him. A bunch of others asked me to point him out at the factory shindig last night, so I was looking for him. My first suspicion is that he was dressed up like one of the pirates. I do hope he was just being his typical shy and quiet self and not missing for a reason.

Lori and I enjoyed the gathering. It takes us a while to get comfortable in a new group, but we were impressed with how welcoming everyone was. We look forward to attending future Brat gatherings.

Speaking of which, can anyone give me the dates for the '08 SBS/Brats affair? We would like to structure our winter travel arrangements around next year's fun and frolic.

Thanks,
Warren

Joe was indeed there, and I saw him this morning briefly as well. I threatened to go sit in my room and type up 50 posts to overtake him again!

WHAT A FINE TIME, next year we just going to have to spring for a room, the day trip concept works good on paper, but, there is just to much B.Sn. to do and to little time.

damn good time, a big thanks to all that made it possible

Thanks to everyone involved in putting together the latest and greatest
C-brat party I've been to!!!!
For us the best part is being able to meet a whole bunch fun people we have just followed in cyber space. Bill & Ell, Byrd man and family, the Valkyrie crew and so many others. We enjoyed everyone.
The factory crew that hosted the whole bunch of us brats has to be a one of a kind. A huge thanks to them!
Cathy won't let me out of her site for a while, she claims I spent too long ogling the new 25 C- Ranger.

What a great time!! Again, many thanks to Roger and Linda for their work at Hawthorne. The Andersons and McKibbons for the brew both nights, Byrdman for the oinker and all of the factory folks for a wonderful evening! Inviting the Seafair Pirates was a fun surprise and a "touch of class".........NICE JOB! DA NAG and TYBOO, thanks for all you continue to do.......now you can sort out all of the pictures. It was fun meeting and talking with a lot of really nice people!

<stuff clipped> there is just too much B.S'n to do and too little time.

That's the story of my life... thank god for the efficiency of B.S.'n over the net. Without the C-brats site, my eyes would be brown. Oh, wait, they are brown, never mind...

I did not think it was possible to have a gathering this good without attending it in our boats. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this one an eleven. It is impossible for me to remember everyone much less their names, so I hesitate to try and to thank individuals for fear of forgetting to mention a special person that I met Friday night and Saturday night.

I was happy to put real faces to many of the Brats that I have only met through cyber space & their photo albums. It was also great to see my old C-Brat friends again that I had met from previous gatherings. It was good to meat the new boat owners that will hopefully become active members on this site and at the future gatherings.

I also want to thank everyone that wished me luck in putting my boat back together.

BUCHANEERS DAY AT THE FACTORY!!!!!

Had a great time in Seattle this past weekend.
Enjoyed the Argosy Locks Cruise- don't know how many times I have been to the Locks, and this was the first time I've been through the locks.
Enjoyed the party at the Hawthorne Suites, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Nice to put faces to some of the names.
Enjoyed the party at the Factory.

Many thanks to those that worked to put this Quality gathering together.

What a great way to get together with so many people from around our country in one gig....with multiple events. Nice.

It always amazes me on how diverse our crowd is from our many different areas, careers, educations, titles (which we do not use around our boats)...and the common thread to this nitch cult of friends....is our C-Dory boats.

May they (C-Dory Boats) always remain real simple boats, without a bunch of flash and flitter, with storage areas you can get to and really use when we cruise, and adjustments easily made with parts you do not need flashlight or eye glasses to see, and can be moved about the boat with our ever aging hands and eyes...without worrying about loosing the little parts, and without having to get down on our hands and knees to see what really needs to happen. And may we always remain a group open, friendly, no titles, just nick names and open invitations to all to come see us when in our home neck of the woods or waters.

Thanks to all for making my Mother "Momma Byrd" as welcome as you did. She truly loved her time here in the Seattle area. As a family, I can say that the small contingency of "Byrds" had a blast bar none.

And...yes.... we will work to put together some type of gathering together in the spring....for those of you who have not seen the Cumberland River or enjoyed the Nashville area by boat.... and...for those of you who have cruised with us.... we truly look forward to adding more memories.

Byrdman...getting ready to head to the airport for the flight back east!!
