01/24 - 01/27 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Extravaganza

It was great fun! Thanks to ALL who made it come together. Two days at the boat show and two parties required me to spend all day yesterday just resting up! It was wonderful seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I don't know how many times during the weekend I heard someone remark "What a great group of folks". How true, how true! It was also nice to have the C-Dory line up of boats all together in their own spot just like old times. (I, like many others, did miss seeing a 16 on the floor. :sad )

Many folks really went beyond the call and worked very hard to make all of the events of the weekend so great. Special thanks to those who had many other things to do at this time, but went the extra mile to make it all work. That would be Roger and Lizbeth, and all of the folks at C-Dory, who some how found the time during the busiest time of their year to make our weekend so special. :thup :thup :thup and a gold :star

Thanks also to the :beer guys, Pat and David. Your gift to us is so generous. :thup :thup :thup

And the snow held off until this morning. It is snowing now with about 2 inches on the ground and more in the forecast. Hum, I have always wanted to boat in the snow, maybe today is the day.

Looking forward to next year. Robbi

It was nice meeting so many C-Brats. I greatly appreciate the boat show tickets & party provided by the factory. I even won a Stanley thermal food mug!

What really came through for me was the sincere interest, care (and patience) so many had in listening to the particulars of my family's boating needs, and the unique conditions imposed by my needing to anchor, release from anchor and re-attach that fishing in a river hogline by myself imposes. Their zeal and knack for problem-solving provided considered and I believe, accurate though at times, conflicting advice. More on this later.

The sales people we spoke with at length were informed, friendly and non-pressuring. When they didn't know the answer to a specific question, they found the guy who did know.

Informative and fun. Thanks, C.W.

Thanks to all for their efforts on organizing this event, good drinks, good food, and great fellowship. Toni and I posted our pictures in our album.

I'm happy everyone had a great time at the SBS this year - sorry I didn't make it. Several of you understand I was taking it easy on my "new' knees. See you all next year for sure (and likely at C-Brat events this season). :cocktail

Sally and I had a good trip home. A 150mph tailwind sure helped! Spent the night in Richmond last night and drove home today.

Thanks to all who made this event special! We enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing the boats in production. Thanks to the factory for hosting the party there and Roger and his crew for the party at the hotel.

I had my mind made up on a Garmin Radar system until I won a Raymarine hat at the factory and have decided on the E80 which I'll order from West Marine this week!

Sent Dot and Marty an e-mail to send them LIZZIE pictures I took from the Argosy cruise of their escort in Lake Washington!

We'll see you all next year and hopefully some of you at the Langford Bay gathering in June of this year!

We sure did miss Dusty though. If I'd known he was gonna cancel, I'd have driven up to see him on Saturday afternoon! :unlove

Thank you to all those already mentioned. We had a great time as always. We talked to so many people but still did not get to talk to every one I wanted to. Charlie and Steve where both on my to talk to list but I did not get around to it, sorry guys. Joel was a blast to talk to about his so called diving business. Some people have all the fun. Both partys were great and I talked until 1 am both nights and thats a treat for me. I hope to see many of you this summer on the water and off. anyone here passing thru marysville wa who wants to stop for dinner at our house just has to call. We love having guess. Anyone who needs help launching for a long trip up north and needs a shuttle to and from trailer/cars/dock/ to make it happen feel free to call. You only get out what you put in. Any "wannabes" that needs a ride before buying, my boat is always open.

Tom and Susan took us out on their boat after meeting them at the 2006 Seattle Boat Show... we came back to the show the next day and signed the papers for our boat.

He ain't kidding!

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

Excellent Tom and Susan,

Now we know what the expectations are. Seriously, We enjoy your enthusiasm and have no idea of your BBQ skills. But at some time in the future, one of us will be showing up (probably me or Bobby McFlay) to check it out.

Thanks for all you do in the C-Brat Community.

Getting home, getting some laundry done, getting some much needed rest.

WOW...that was 4 years in a row. I never stepped foot into the boat show and had a great time. My basic goal on this trip was to see and be around my C-Brat friends and was that ever accomplished.

It was fun with some of the prep for the gig, it was great to get picked up again at the airport by Roger Johnson and have some time together. Being cross country friends takes a bit of travel and work.

I truly loved the late night in the conference room at the Hawthorne C-Brat House. I sure hope the new owners and management make it possible to be back there next year.

Thanks to all who had a good time with Mom. She was sparkling like a new kid again, but, after our flight back cross country, her age, mixed with her 5 day event prior to me taking her to Seattle for the C-Brat stuff....well...she collapsed into a deep sleep of about 14 hours...but woke up spri... but missing all the C-Brats. Yall will just have to come visit her in the Spring for a TN/Cumberland River Gathering if interest is there.

It was good to see things in the plant, looking more like a boat plant than a theater. Scot apologized for things looking like a boat factory, but hey...that is what it is. We all look forward to some re-focus of efforts and goods in 2008 on these boats. I liked seeing more folks in flannel shirts, sweat shirts, and less or no ties and sports jackets. Our C-Dory jacket is our black tie attire.

It was great to have a few of us gather for the lunch at Crab Pot prior to our Argosy Cruise and again see one of our C-Brats on the lake waiting for us to lock up and thru. That was fun. ....again. I think all on board had a great time and enjoyed views not often received this time of year in Seattle. Many animals in the water too...fun.

Thanks to all who helped. Thanks to all who attended to add to the memories. I did miss a few others who for what ever reason could not make it this year.

Yall let me know if you are ever in the southeastern Heartland area. Have dockage for about 6 boats.

Birdman,

It was great to get to meet and enjoy some time, (the Sat night Round Table.) Great stories, great laughs, and great memories. Glad your trip home was uneventful. If you're out this way and we can be of any help, we'd be glad to. We woke up Monday morning to 3 inches of snow. See you next time,

Harvey

Hey Harvey! Yes, it was nice to get to know some other folks on a much more informal setting. I think that round table did the job! Look forward to my next trip back out to the left side.
