01/24 - 01/27 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Extravaganza

Just show up at the factory on Saturday night. Nothing more required, they don't check IDs at the door AFAIK.

What's the deal for just going to the Saturday event at the factory? I am local to SBS, and only have time for this event.

Regrettably with my wife recovering from sergery and not having the time I would like off work to properly enjoy the weekend with all the brats and CD folks I think we'll have to wait until next year. I was really looking forward to meeting a lot of you fine folks, including of course the factory party. I'm also hoping that we'll run into many of you out on the water - we're planning on taking a Puget Sound loop sometime this summer. Enjoy the weekend and take care brats.
Ps - we'll be at the Portland boat show this weekend/tomorrow.

Linda called me to say that the motel is out of one bedroom suites. all that is left are townhouse 2 bedroom suites.
some may have to double up if need be.

I'll drop by the Hawthorne Suites on Fri. for the party. I'll bring some wine and smoked salmon. I'll be hitting the boat show and factory dinner on Sat. If the factory is suppling tickets to the boat show, it would be great if I could pick them up Fri. night. Also, Roger, let me know what to contribute to the cost of the party room. See ya' all then!

Oh one more thing - if someone needs a ride back from the lock cruise to Hawthorne suites - I can help out.

Thanks Roger, as far as amount, I am not sure. I will put a box at the door for donations.

I will have some out of pocket expenses like Licquer license, plates, plastic flatware, cups, napkins, name tags, etc.
and 100.00 for room so far.I will be going down to motel for last meeting with them next week.

another piece of business
I have these names for wanting tickets put in will call. If there any others that need them in will call please let me know

would like to stop in at the saturday evening function. we will be arriving at seatac about 6:00 pm and if possible could spend some time with other c-brats after the dinner? what time does the function end and where is it. on our way home sun am.

For those of us who may be in the area during the Seattle boat show but are not staying with the group, what is the time of the Factory Open House? Is it Saturday night the 26th? If so what time? Also, are there directions to the factory open house?

Thanks,

Pounder

Jim,

The factory address is on their web page. (A link is on the front page of c-brats, lower left corner) For your convenience here is a link to the factory web site page which has the location and a google map. The factory party usually starts around 7:00pm.

Dave,

Go up this thread four posts to SENSEI's post. If you send him a PM he will put your tickets at will call.

Jim,
Nice to "hear your voice" on the site again. You can look up the directions (if you need them) on mapquest for the factory. (25 37th St. N.E. Auburn, Wa. 98002).
Hope this helps.

See you there,
Dave S.

The Beer Guys will probably be bringing a keg of Avalanche to the factory gathering, if David can bring his CO2 dispensing stuff. I have cleared this in advance with Scot, no more hiding the keg in the bushes!

I will put the CO2 tank and taps in the same pile as the Helm Hubs I am bringing along. I have one with Joe from Sea Wolfs name on it already.

Pat,
I recently read an article indicating a severe hop shortage for small breweries. I hope you guys don't run out of hops.

Ken - don't get me started on this! It nearly put us out of business and may yet...the price of the hop we use in our Wildcat IPA, which is 50% of our sales, went from $3.50 a lb. to $19.35 a lb., we had no assurance that we could obtain them, and when we did, the terms were terrible. Add to that, the cost of grain went up 40% this year due to the yanking out of barley and planting of corn for ethanol...lovers of good beer are in for a shock in the price increases that are about to occur, it is inevitable. The climate for small breweries is not good at the moment.

David-

Thanks for remembering me, I'm looking forward to seeing you again at the show and get together!

Pat-

Who! That's quite a squeeze! Hope it doesn't hurt you and David too bad and you can pass the cost increases on to the admiring and loyal customers you have!

Doesn't anybody know how to make synthetic hops out of petroleum derivatives, coal tar distillates, used motor oil, surplus french fry oil, or recycled plastic bottles? Where's DuPont when you need 'em?

See you and Patty in about two weeks!

Joe. :thup :teeth

Pat,
I for one will never drink the industrial swill-if worse comes to worse I would give up beer and concentrate on wine. I started homebrewing 20 years ago just before the microbrews became widely available because I couldn't find a decent beer. Hope the hop situation smooths out soon.
