01/24 - 01/27 - Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Extravaganza

Roger, I just booked through Linda and am bringing my wife and 1-3 kids to the Hawthorne Suites for both Friday and Saturday nights. If I could also get a pair of tickets for the boat show, that would be great. I'll send you a p.m.

C.W.

Hey Roger!

Do we need to remind folks to bring goodies to share to the party at the hotel on Friday night? Ditto BYOB and to share? I haven't read back through the thread, but don't remember this being mentioned.

See ya' in 12 days!

Joe.

Joe,

I am answering for SENSEI who is busy watching the Seahawks.

Yes, the Friday night party is 'pot luck' and any BYO beer is welcome.

Hey all...

I just booked my room at the Hawthorne through Linda for Saturday night (I have an appointment at the store on Saturday so can't make it Friday night as well); hopefully Dusty will come along with me.

See y'all then...

I finally signed us up, wanting to see 2 pages of them . It will be wonderful to see all the old and new C-Brats. We will be commuting from home to the events. Hopefully FedEx will give me the trip off, so we can also attend the Friday night gala.... who knows , I might need to borrow a couch so Admiral Laurie doesn't have to drive me home.

I understand that Friday night is potluck + byob. What about the Saturday night event? What should we bring for that? Appetizers? I don't drink beer.... but enjoy wine, etc. Let me know. C.W.

Anna Leigh: from what most folks say Pyramid Ale is one of the better microbrews.... and it was founded and created in Kalama for about ten years before they sold out and went to Ballard. I've tried it (and others) before... just isn't for me.

Now on the other hand, those folks in Tennessee can work some real magic with corn and spring water... and my favorite wine is from Sonoma County, CA (Navarro esp.). C.W.

C.W. There's usually some wine at the factory gathering but a "wine snob" like me will likely bring a bottle or two of something I'd enjoy. From Sonoma, I like Seghesio Zin but I must admit I don't have a lot of exposure to Sonoma wines. Now ask me about Red Mountain or Walla Walla wines, and I can recommend (and bring) some good ones. How about you bring a bottle of something you like from Sonoma and I bring a nice WA wine? We can sit at the same table and share.

Maybe we'll both learn something.

Last Chance

Linda sent me an email to say that the motel is almost full. today is the last day that they will hold the last few remaining rooms for us. after today they will probably be gone.
also she wrote this

Upon checkin those who will be needing the shuttle to return to the airport should let the front desk make a reservation for them. Shuttle runs 7AM - 11P, every 1/2 hour and on the hour. For those flying in, they can call the hotel directly (253) 395-3800 and request a shuttle to the hotel upon arrival

Could someone give me a ride on Saturday from the hotel in time for the boat show opening, and back in time for the party? That way I can give the car to my wife for the day.

Thanks.

Warren-

I'll be glad to do it!

I want to get back early enough to the hotel to get out to the factory's excess hardware sale, though, so will probably leave the show a bit earlier than some!

Joe. :thup :teeth

C.W. - you missed Anna Leigh David's meaning here I think - David and I are the "Beer Guys," we are the owners of Snoqualmie Falls Brewing Company. We have traditionally contributed a keg to the C-Dory factory party. Our brewer, Rande Reed, was the corporate head brewer of Pyramid / Thomas Kemper before joining us...

Julia, the kids, and I are planning to attend the factory open house on Saturday. One quick question, though: Are kids OK at that function?

I'll be covering the show for Navagear, so I've got a press pass...ooooh. :-) But I could use one additional Boat Show ticket, if any are still available, to lure the unsuspecting Julia out to the show.

See you all there!

Tim,

I do believe kids are allowed at the factory party.

For tickets, please PM SENSEI. He can have the tickets placed at will call at the show or available at the Hawthorne Suites on friday.

For anyone requesting tickets from SENSEI, please include your screen name, boat name and real name and the number of tickets. Please only request the number of tickets you need for one visit to the show.

back online.

Got an email from Argosy cruise. They indicate that about 15 of us are now signed up for the Friday afternoon Lock and Dam Cruise. In chatter with them, I indicated that their no refund policy may be hurting them a bit with our crowd as well as the loss of the 10% discount for early registration and sign up on the web site.

Still plenty of room on board as only about 4-5 other non-C-Brats are signed up, and they could have simply just not checked the block or entered the data.

See yall in about a week!!

Momma Byrd is already packing and lookinf forward to the fun too.
Brother Mike is taking this year off as to allow him to move his business into their new building site. Nice building, but much work to do. He and B said they will see those joining us for a Spring 08 gathering soon.

Has anyone seen a list of what C-Dory models will be on display at the show?
I had Paul come over yesterday and tell me that if there was going to be a 16 on display he would consider going.....
I would like to look at that new 29....not interested in buying...but looking ...
I really like the idea of an inboard diesel.... sure wish the 25 came with that option..... course the first thing I would do is grind off the prop...
(that would be trying to evade capture)

I also am anxious to see Birdmans photos....his boats sure look interesting.

Hi Joel,
No, I haven't seen a list, however......
In all the years that I've gone to the SBS (which is quite a number of years), I don't recall a time they didn't have a 16' there. (Usually, it is a 16' Cruiser). (One year they had the 14' C-Dory there as well). You should be able to count on the 16', 19' 22', 25', and the 25' Cat. I'm guessin' that at least one of the "venture series" will be there. (Don't know about the 29'.....I saw it once and that was enough for me....you know what they say...different strokes for different folks.. :wink ). I would certainly expect Ranger to have the R21 and the R25 on display nearby.
See you there.
