    Hydraulic Steering Maintenance

Al, Should it turn out that you do have the BayStar rather than the SeaStar, let me know. I should have the manual for the Baystar unit that came on my 22 and I can easily scan it for you. Richard on TK Grand

    Unofficial Apostle Islands Mini-gathering

Al, thanks for chiming in. I guess we'll have to catch you another time. Your area looks might interesting too but we've yet to get over there so far. Chris, I'll pass on your suggestions to my daughter and son-in-law. I doubt that they'll come equipped to do any lake swimming. My grand...

    Unofficial Apostle Islands Mini-gathering

While not an organized event, Susan and I will be cruising the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior from June 17-24, 2006. We are hoping to connect with Gary & Bonnie on "Winyah" and Chris & Family on "Scout". Any other C-Dory folks in area during that time? Richard & Susan on TK Grand

    C-Dory Sightings

While not a physical sighting, I wonder how many have noticed the C-Dory in the latest Lats & Atts issue (July 2006?). I believe it was on page 73 but I don't have it in front of me at present. Richard on TK Grand

    Hydraulic Steering Maintenance

John & Gary, Thanks to both of you for your help. After work today I got the bleeder caps off but thoroughly destroyed them in the process. They were definately on there to stay! Got the air out of the system but still seem to have quite a bit of air trapped in the autopilot pump. Oh well...

    Hydraulic Steering Maintenance

I feel like this may be a stupid question. Perhaps, but can anyone offer some insight as to the nature of the plastic caps over the bleeder nipples on the Baystar hydraulic cylinder? Mine seem to be so firmly attached that I fear ruining them by trying to remove them. Nothing is said about...

    Hours per season

When setting up my logbook for the TK Grand, I put in a column for entering readings from the paddlewheel on my Lowrance Sonar unit. I do so religiously. That allows me to look back at "distance over water" and helps to account for distance travelled when meandering around in creeks and bays...

    raised Pilot roof

My wife persuaded me to order the high-top roof. Fortunately, I listened to her. Now I know that I'd be glad I'd done so even if we didn't have 6'2" visitors. It really does make the cabin feel more spacious. Other than the cost, I just can't see any reason one would not want to own the...

    Ham Radio on CD22

George, Sounds great. I've fooled with a hamstick dipole while traveling for work and it did quite well. My reason for using the hustler shorty masts was to keep the overall length of the dipole as short as possible at, I suppose, some loss of efficiency. Time will tell how the dipole will...

    Ham Radio on CD22

George and Penny, Glad to hear from you. FYI, in addition to the above mentioned thread, there is a dedicated page on the previous C-brats MSN group site. It is basically a listing of C-Hams with callsigns, names, rigs, antennas, etc. The page I'm referring to is still active in that I...
