    Outboard freeze protection?

Has anyone had any experiences with the radar units during winter storage? I have the Ray Marine system and never do any to the dome. So far so good. I am told the cold does effect the radar domes.

    Outboard freeze protection?

I meant to add I take the batteries out. The only line clearing I do is on my Big Foot Camper. Not on the boat. Baboo

    Outboard freeze protection?

I live in Fairbanks, Alaska. Boat lives in covered shed but no other protection than the roof all winter. I was advised by my local dealer to change the oil with new filters and change the lube in the foot. I also run the carbs dry. Never had a problem. I worry more about anti-freezing my...

    Home Study Course

Were you satisfied with the course? Did you look at others before choosing this one? I was impressed with the one Matt sent but I have not looked at the one you took yet. My guess is much of the content is the same?

    Home Study Course

I asked about on-line Marine courses about two years ago and am just now getting around to taking one. So again to get the latest opinions I am asking for recommendations for a course of study, on-line with home study materials. I am looking for a course which will present a general variety of...

    Trailer Towing Speed

We have never had any problems towing my CD22. Always do about 50 - 55 mph and try to stay ahead of need to slow down and stop. In 2004 I towed the boat from Oak Harbour, Wa. back to Fairbanks. Also had a new BIg Foot cabover camper on my F-350 Ford Diesel. One evening in Canada just after...

    Engine for a 22 Cruiser

We have twin Honda 40's. Very pleased with them. Reliable and economical. But as has been said service is most important although I have had little need for service it is nice to have a dealer close to run down and ask questions.

    TC25 Insulation

Thanks for the link on the prior discussions. Just what I was looking for. And Bob, excellent reminded to consider the health aspects of the insulation. If and when I hear back from the factory I wll post their reply. gary

    TC25 Insulation

Friends of mine purchased a TC25 last year. They put spray-on insulation inside the hull. This was done in the factory during the molding process. The reason was to reduce condensation especially in the V-Berth. They believe it to be effective in reducing the condensation and highly recommend I...

C-Dory Article in Trailer Boats Magazine

I did not "discover" the buttons until late in the first season of ownership. The engines were still warm as we had shut down to pull shrimp pots and I had a bit of difficulty starting the starboard engine. I talked to a Honda mechanic and he told me to push the button and give a tad bit more...

    Re-routing shower

The bypass valve is an excellent idea. Looking forward to seeing the photos upon your return.

    Re-routing shower

Thanks Byrdman. Pictures very helpful. You are right on about the showers. Some folks do use shower a lot but others not. We travel a good deal in our BigFoot cabover camper and have not taken a shower in it yet. The campground showers are there every night and soooo much nicer.

    Re-routing shower

Thank you Bob. I have looked at your photos number of times but never connected the one on the shower installation being exactly what I have in mind. Question on the hose which connects the shower head to the hot water supply line. How long is it and where does it coil into when not in use?

    Re-routing shower

Did not take your comments as anything but helpful. When my CD22 was made I did not know enough to be on pins and needles. Now that I am aware of all the things that can go wrong in the making as well as with the choices we make, the TC will be a nerve wracking experience. I will no doubt be...

    Re-routing shower

John - I think the suggestion in your last sentence is exactly what I will do. I also appreciate your comments about making too much out of too little a problem. Obviously many CD owners have the standard setup and it works. I still am looking preferentially into the composter. Thanks to all...

    Re-routing shower

The resell value is of a concern but I suspect this boat will be with me a long time so the concern is lessened. Given our type of boating the shower would be used only on rare occurrences under ideal situations such as a secluded Alaska cove. (Not too cold all of the time.) One cøncern I have...

    Re-routing shower

Thanks for the posts. I was not aware of the Yamaha possibility but since I am a Honda guy I will hope Honda will do the same. Re-sell is always important and that is something to keep in mind. I understand the disadvantages of showering on the outside - but most of the showering will be done...

    Re-routing shower

I spoke to Richard Reynolds at the factory today discussing modifications on a TC. One modification I am strongly considering is to eliminate the water based marine toilet and replacing with the composting system discussed on other forums. Now the shower. Is there any reason the hot water...

    Changes at C-Dory

Scot. Business is a study of irony. Until I saw your post I was equivocating about moving up from my CD22 (which I dearly love) to a TomCat (grandchildren are getting bigger and bigger). I was concerned you had gotten too big for the one on one relationship I had with C-Dory four years ago when...
