    New owner of Lumpsucker

I was the second owner of the sweet 22 Cruiser (and the longest so far, 11 years) that returned to Bellingham 5 years ago and became Lumpsucker. Since then I think she has changed hands once or twice and I am seeking her new name so I can follow her on this site. When I had her she was unnamed...

    Trolling

I was trying to look up fishing by trolling on a Cdory and so as usual I googled "trolling" but I just got this and it doesn't have anything to do with fishing or boats. Can someone please help me learn the how to properly fish while underway on a Cdory? Thanks. Internet trolling In Internet...

    Don't worry, be happy!

As a former C-dory owner I kept up with this forum (still do) and all the mechanical and structural problems that we have experienced and overcome. That's just it, with everyone's help we overcame. Things work out. I worried too much about inherent C-dory weaknesses and it affected my enjoyment...

    MOKAI?

I know that at least one member, Jay, has a MOKAI and I'd like to hear from him or any other owners about their thoughts and experiences with these little boats. Now that MINNIE is gone I need a new "unique" interest and am considering one for the Mississippi River backwaters. Thanks.

    Minnie Swann goes home

11 years ago I bought her out in Spokane and promised her owner a good home on the Mississippi River, here on the Wisconsin Riviera. I kept that promise as long as I could. Today she sold to a gentleman back in Washington State and will soon be crusing the San Juan Islands. She's excited, I'm a...

    Start seeing C-dory's

When I bought Minnie Swann 12 years ago I needed a loan and had a terrible time convincing the bank that C-dorys existed and that they were worth big money. Now I'm selling her and my potential buyers are experiencing the same delema. We could use some help from the factoryand our owners group...

    Radio silence

Just tried to hail 2 C-Dorys heading up the Mississippi. Probably coming back from the Iowa meet. No response but that's not unusual in my experience. Is our group radio shy or do they just use their radios in emergencies? I always thought if you had one it should be on. Personally I don't...

    Blister update

A few years ago the Brats were discussing hull blisters at great length and I noted that I had some small ones too and would keep an eye on them and report back. My 2001, 22 cruiser has been kept in fresh water for 4 months per year for 12 years now. The number of small (less than dime sized)...

    Gulliver's Travels

I just saw Gulliver's travels with the grand kids. Whose C-Dory is briefly seen in a marina tie along slip in one of the early scenes?

    Fuel line replacement

There has been talk about replacing fuel lines with new spec. hoses that are resistant to solvents and weathering. It has convinced me to re-do Minnie's lines next spring as I have had some fuel related problems with only my starboard Honda. If any of you with dual motors and two tanks are...

    motor mystery

My starboard Honda 40 drops RPMs and sometimes quits on hard right turns. I know, don't do that anymore. Anyhoo, I have dumped and cleaned the tanks, changed out the Honda Racor and motor mounted filters. It still runs rough for a few minutes and then smooths out 'till next time. Anyone???

    Decorating disaster

Does everyone but me know that decorating your boat (especially with silk flowers) can lead to staining of the gel coat. If not, I want to warn everyone that while it is not incurable it sure makes for a lot of hard work if those decorations get wet. It looked like someone threw a bucket of red...

    the C-Dory effect

I have just returned from a 90 minute cruise on the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers here in mid- America and once again have experienced what I call the C-Dory effect! When passing cruisers coating $500,000 to $1,000,000 plus I watched their guests nudge each other and nod or point to sweet Ol'...

    Why the overhead mount?

I have always been fasinated by the almost unanimous choice of mounting of VHF radios in an overhead position. It seems to me that reaching and looking up is awkward especially if it is an emergency situation. The mike cord often dangles in front of the helmsman and seems to be as distracting as...

    fuel contamination

This problem has occured 4 or 5 times in the last season. The boat is left in the water for the season. The cockpit is constantly covered and so are the filler caps. The carbs were rebuilt by a highly regarded shop after it happened the first time. It happens in both warm and cold weather. I get...

    Burgee tip

I discovered a way to quiet a sleep disturbing , flapping, clinking burgee without removing it. It would also work for towing and reduce fading. I roll the burgee around the pole and slip the cover sleeve from a collapsible umbrella over it. It actually looks kind of classy too I might add. I...

    Transom Air Conditioner

I completed a quick and cheap removable air conditioning solution this weekend! We had tried to sleep on the boat a couple of times during humid nights and weren't looking forward to doing it again. For the price of a one-night motel stay I bought a $96.00 Kenmore 5,000 BTU window A/C at Sears...

    I need closure

I see many calls for help with C-Dory problems in the current topics. Every one offers good friendly advice and a wealth of possible solutions and then the subject is just dropped. I'd like to know what the final solution turned out to be. Did one of the suggestions solve the problem or was it...
