Water flow from water tank is weak

Operating foot pump, the water flow is very weak. I use this very little and suspect, since the boat is 10 years old, that some sediment might be clogging it. Anyone have a similar issue?

    Suzuki owners - question

I have twin DF - 50 Suzuki outboards 2005 and have discovered after almost 1000 hours that they have internal anodes that should have been checked and replaced long ago. My servicing mechanic was unaware of them, and believe it or not, there is absolutely no mention of them anywheres in the...

    Running without thermostats

One of my Suzuki DF50 2005 engines, with about 1000 hours on it, began emitting the overheat light when run over 5000 rpms. Shut down the engine, restart and run below 5000 rpm, everything is fine. Installed new thermostat. But no joy. Mechanic thinks corosion inside engine block, despite...

    Noisy windshield wipers

It seems to me when they were new, the wipers were almost silent. They quickly started making rumbling noise.....not from the blades, but within the motor housing. They work fine, just noisy. Anybody experience this and discovered why, and a solution?

    Channel Islands Landing Update

Our new launch docks are in!! Properly positioned now for launch and retrieval. Rest of the slips are due to go in in October or Novenber. On Monday, they will be welding a new cable attachment to the cradle, for improved effectiveness of the hoist. I believe this will give an additional 2-3...

Bet you never saw canvas like this before!!

Finally finshed.....my custom canvas job. Check it out in my album. No more faded blue gelcoat...it's all covered & protected. No need to hang window covers anymore, except when overnighting on the water. Goes on easily using existing snaps for CGAUX patrol signs and hanger straps from...

    ST6001 Autopilot problem

Here's an interesting problem. My compass reading on my autopilot control head is weird. It's off about 90 degrees from the GPS COG or my boat compass, and the boat icon on my C80 chart display is cockeyed. It shows the bow of my boat traveling at a severe angle to starboard as I proceed down...

    Canvas Project for Sealife

In typical fashion, I changed my mind in mid stream about having a full cover made for Sealife to protect her from the sun. Peggy, from Channel Islands Canvas came out and started the canvas layout with plastic, and when I saw that, and envisioned the size and weight of the cover in Sunbrella...

Towing with the aft leaning bimini top

When I towed my new boat home from the factory, they recommended that I secure the bimini forward against the cabin top with wire ties. I guess they feel that at highway speeds, the wind buffeting can wear the fabric if left in the normally supported aft leaning position. What's our group...

Binacle controls placement - twins -

On my 2005 CD 22, I have the new twin binacle throttles for Suzukis mounted in the standard position, right at your hip. I'm ceratinly not a big man, yet my hip occasionally hits the trim tab button on the throttle handle. A more serious problem is that at cruising speeds the throttle handles...

Time to start planning for our annual So. Cal. trek to Catalina Island. This year the dates are from Sunday 8/20 to Saturday 8/26. As in the past some of us will meet on Sunday at Marina del Rey, stay overnight at Chase Park, and make the crossing to Catalina's Two Harbors on Monday morning...

    Reversible seating - CD22

Somewhere I heard that the factory had made some improvements to the reversible dinette seat, making it more stable. Anyone have info on just what they did, and if my 2005 version can be upgraded? It seems, even with three table clips, the table still is not solid. Maybe what's needed is a...

    C-80 Speed calibration

Got a pecuilar problem with my Raymarine C-80. On my Data screen, my SOG appear to read correctly, but my SPEED reading is only about half what it should be. It's my understanding that the SOG comes from the GPS, and the SPEED from the paddle wheel on the fathometer transducer. I've checked...

    Leak Integrity of radar arches

My new cruiser is equipped with the new low radar arch. All the wiring runs through the arch down into the cabin, but it seems to be wide open to the weather. With the rainy season approaching, I'm concerned that water can easily find it's way into the cabin through the arch. Normally...

New boat canvas and radar arch questions

Most of the equipment on my new boat I'm sure of, but I've got questions about two items that will be quite different from what I had on Sealife. First, on Sealife, my canvas bimini was carried, in its cover, resting forward on the cabin roof. To unfurl it, it was necessary to lift the bows...
